I'm sure the new guy is a great dude, but I can't help thinking that is somewhat of a gutsy move, especially as a newbie. I know of a few former pilot colleagues, who I was never particularly fond of, get hired on by Delta. I've really always thought going out of my way to blacklist anyone as kind of a jerk move. I'm not labeling anyone here, just saying this is a very small industry and I couldn't imagine going out of my way to burn someone like that unless I truly felt it would save lives one day.

What's that old saying again....what comes around, must come down.

I hear ya. No one likes a snitch, and usually for good reason. However the very few instances of people in the industry I've known to go out of their way to "fully inform" about particular people have been justified. I've never done it, and only would ever consider it for one or two people. One of which got on at another legacy anyway (that no one there can believe because they weren't aware :D ) and another who isn't likely to get the call here even if we're deep into tier 3. So I probably never will, which is fine by me.

I'm an easy A and will rec just about anyone (although to varying levels of effort and enthusiasm) even those I wasn't crazy about working with or had personality differences from. I firmly believe we have to help out eachother and you never know when you need to cross over any given bridge. But there are a very few out there I think we all know who would be lousy fits at best, and in some cases flat out scammers or even safety threats.

It would have to be bad for me not to rec someone though, and really really bad for me to even go through the trouble of making a call. I think most are the same way. But sometimes it may be necessary.

And when at Hebron Academy, the rink was OUTDOORS!!!! Right near the base of Mt. Washington! Look at the weather there in the winter! It was so freaking cold the ice cracked!!!!!

And on the 88, who's got time to check the "correctness" of the AWABS? Just load the thing and let's GO!!!!

Definitely the last of a breed.... You guys "load" things? What happened to flip cards?

I second this. I was always taught to spend all my effort trying to better myself. Why spend effort to hold someone else down? That just brings bad karma. What does this new hire lose if this guy he doesn't like is hired? The answer is nothing. The guy must have slept with his wife or something. If someone sleeps with my wife, I'm blaming my wife. I can't blame the guy because that would be hypocritical as I sleep with my wife.

I drive to hockey these days in 80 degree weather with the roof off my jeep. How times have changed.

Everything is over blocked for us too. My last JFK trip, we left 3 tight connects at the gate, but arrived in DTW almost an hour early; Ridiculous.

Although in the old days, we may have closed the door, blocked out, then opened it back up.;)

I have to disagree with you. Delta is at or near the top in pretty much every category these days. You don't get performance like that if you don't measure everything, figure out where the problems are, and try to fix them.

That said, there is a time and place for the captain to use common sense.

Anybody else having trouble with icrew mobile? The last two days I have signed in and immediately on the next screen it has the regular icrew logout screen pop up so I can't get in. I have no trouble getting into the regular icrew. Am I the only one?

I wonder if the HVC/Commuters/non-revs left at the gate metric is being measured? QOL can certainly be hit with these small changes and emphasis to close the door.

Had a gate agent push a plane early with two seats available (we were there well ahead of time and he was aware of us) AND he was surprised that I was upset about it.
