I'm sure there are plans to fly to all our hubs and gateways from the secondary cities. Just as soon as China Eastern gets more long range planes:rolleyes:

Isn't that what the 737 and 717s deliveries are for?

I wonder if there are also plans similar to what United is doing with their 787's (direct routes to other large cities such as Chengdu)?

I think the hub in Shanghai will be manned by China Eastern employees. The rumor was that LAX-PVG was to be flown by us, but in dl net it's china eastern.

sooo...I feel awful due to the yellow fever shot. Has anyone had to call in sick due to YF, and if so, how did you verify? send in proof of shot? No GD way I'm paying the doctor to verify this.

I felt REALLY CRUMMY for a couple of weeks after it, with a whole slew of odd symptoms..capped off by some tingling/burning toes at the end.

And it turned me into a newt, but I got better..

I thought there was a -no fly- restriction of 48 hours (?) after that shot?

If you have the paperwork, I'd call the CPO, tell them about it, and then fax them a copy of your shot record. But if you are under 100 hours of unverified sick leave, don't worry about it, just sick out.

Have you tried using the little yellow foam earplugs under the Telex? That seems to work best for me, but I've never spent much time in a 737. From what I'm reading here, it requires a full on noise cancelling headset!

The DC's are just too hot and heavy for me, oh, and I don't like sharing a microphone with everyone who's worn it before me. I've seen where some of those mouths eat!

All my FOs are low talkers, and I don't wanna be a pirate!

Road:

What I find annoying is when the deaf guy leaves ALL the volume knobs turned up, all the lights on...in daylight, and leaves a cup of cold coffee in the cupholder. I don't want to lose more hearing, it's already hot in the cockpit, and I'm not that thirsty...at least for cold coffee. :D

(cool, another "How to leave the cockpit" thread.:D)

The lights generate heat. No reason to have them at full brilliance when no one's there -- especially during the day. The cockpits are greenhouses already.

Close the shades if installed.

Deselect all the radios.

Leave the cockpit at least slightly cleaner than how you found it.

And I've never understood the whole, "Leave the seatbelts buckled across the seat." How about leaving them hanging so the next guy can put them on without sitting on them first.

Rules to live by.
