In your case, that's 9:45/3=3:15 each.

Pilot flying gets to choose which break he wants, but there's also some nonsense in the new FAR about how long the 'flying pilot' can be in the seat, prior to landing. So if you want to stick to that, the flying pilot may have to take the last break...which sucks.

The ER is now operating under an exemption to 117 so we just do it the old way. RP-1st break, PF-2nd break, PM-3rd break.

NH Hotels...

We are supposed to get a 50% discount on NH hotels through Delta Perks. The Perks site now says that due to site issues, they can't provide a link. But the one they do provide only takes you to the sign up page for the rewards program. Considering that we are a huge client, I think this sucks. Does anyone have a code or an internal website we can access for an NH discount through DL?

Actually, I just checked Hilton too. Their airline staff discount (50%) website is in effect, shut down too.. shows no rooms available in a market that has plenty available on hotels.com. Looks like a lot of the DL negotiated perks just got cut off. Maybe this is something to bring to the attention of our negotiators...?

Short - crew 1 (2+30)
Long - crew 2 (5+00)--usually the flying crew

Thanks, should have been more specific. Its 4 man and I talked to a LCA type who suggested short, long, long, short with the TO/LDG crew doing the first and the third break so that they're rested and only in the seat for about 2.5 hrs before descent and landing. That sounds good to me as opposed to 2 long breaks. Thoughts?

Yeah, those 'short' legs (less than 12hrs.) are tough to figure the breaks when there's 4 of you.

I've done it both ways, 4 breaks and 2 breaks, neither one is 'good' but if it's 9:45/2, you're looking at 4:52 each. Some guys like to do that, but I can't sleep that long, even in the quiet and excellent bunks in the 777, I usually have to get up and pee at about 3:45.

So if you go with the 4 breaks, you could do a 3:00 and 1:52, or some variation of that.

Good luck men, we're all counting on you! :D

Trans States and Skywest both have the MRJ set for deliveries in the next 24 months. Our scope clause prohibits these aircraft outside of mainline. This article says that negotiations are underway right now. Funny, but I've not heard anything about it from our CBA...

There was nothing in my contract survey about those.

If section 1 ever came back in the TA with those permitted, what possible reason would I have to even consider blaming ALPA?
