Your right, my first post was a simple statement on what Delta requires. Should have kept it to that.

How does one go about obtaining an aircraft that can be flown fairly economically about 100 hours per year, carry 4 + bags at least 300nm, and so on and so forth?
Consider a Piper Cherokee. A late 60's or early 70's PA 28-140/150 costs less than a current minivan/SUV. For less than $40K, you can get a IFR current, 3-4 seat and very fun airplane. If you don't need glass/GPS/autopilot, the price is very affordable. Besides, the avionics change constantly, a handheld GPS and Ipad are all you need. You definitely want to hangar your new ride, and besides, it's not airplane storage, it's a man cave.

Alright, so have we figured I'd not wearing your hat in public view and outside the aircraft while in uniform is an FAA violation and certificate action is a definite maybe?

and I just realized my trousers have 2 inch belt loops, not 1 3/4 Inches as per the FOM. Is this like a 709 ride?

You are the one who assumed he had his license suspended by the FAA. He didn't say anything about the FAA. Just that he got 30 days off.
Um, no...here's his post:

No. But the FAA will send Mary to your house to lecture you.

Yes. But since your lawlessness involved discussing your pants, the 709 ride will be administered by her:

Ooohhh, Deb. She can 69 I mean 709 ride anytime.

Regarding GA go for a used Mooney or maybe a Cirrus. A lot slicker / faster of a plane than the PA28, and there are a lot of them availble.

It has to be cheap though. We're airline pilots. We're on a budget.

So right now the C150 is in the lead... but the Piper Traumahawk might catch it.
