I don't do that. I either put them in before pushback or after we are stopped with the brakes set and receive the wave off.

Just curious what others think. I will continue to do it my way!:D

Denny

I will do it on the push if its available. I feel that time is low threat, jet under tow, prior to eng. start etc. I typically only start one engine so that commences around "brakes set" so there seems to be enough time to complete before cranking. If not, I will peruse and highlight while F/O begins eng. start. Really feel comfortable reading/highlighting WDR while being pushed back.

If you used the trip#/depart on date bid preference and check ordered...it should award L-R if you can hold one of them.

In your explanation it sounds like you didn't check the "Ordered" box. Check your Reasons Report or Bid (I always generate a pdf of my submitted bid with Conf#). If not ordered, all the trips are considered of equal value.

Award Pairings If Pairing Number Departing On (Ordered) A065 On May 10, 2015, A065 On May 11, 2015, A065 On May 12, 2015

PCS Swap denial

Tried to trade a trip (swap with pot) starting on 23 Apr for one starting on 24 Apr. Both 4-day trips, nothing funky, no issues with capped reserve dates. There are two days with min reserves, but both trips cover both days = a wash.

I got denied with the message, "Not allowed until next month's scheds are released."

I get it if these were spillout trips, but neither one is.

What am I missing?

My bet is that your schedule is already complete and not posted and your future schedule look back has a conflict with your swap. Just a guess. If that isn't the case, it's ALPAs fault.:D

Contract section 23.H.5.i

Note: During the PBS bid award process, a swap involving a rotation that contains any duty period, or portion thereof, that is within the last six days of the current bid period will not be granted.

Until the schedules are released into DBMS, we are still within the "PBS bid award process."

Pesky details. Did not use(or know about) the pairings ordered. Just listed them and ASSumed they would process in order. Not just randomly. Live and learn. Thanks guys.

I thought all trip swaps were 'frozen' from bid closure to bid awards? To prevent a swap interfering with your May award, or such. Not sure of the specifics but call 1-800-USA-ALPA tomorrow and ask for Scheduling Committee, or call Screw Kids and ask if they know why.

That is correct. (at least the carry outs are)

I thought it was just carry outs, but it looks like the other herc driver gave him his (likely correct) answer.
