Not sure what your pre-Delta background is, and I honestly don't care, but you might want to wind the clock and think twice before you decide to criticize your co-workers on a public forum.

Well I didn't call anyone out by name, so come on dude, chill. I am just stating what I have seen. A capt get in a shouting match with a ramper during a push that was so loud it could be heard through the cockpit door. Different guy literally making fun of passengers to their face and talking down to FAs. Certainly not the majority, and all have been great to me. I am just saying those are not qualities I would want when I hire for a 250k+ a year job. Not every capt could make it outside of flying. Not even close.

You are on a public forum.
Please be more discrete.

Carl

Not to derail the boobs, but a noob question, who is that?

Just double checking---can the Patriotic tie that we can wear for the upcoming holidays be anything of our choosing (within reason, of course), or is there a company prescribed one? I'm assuming that applies to the Christmas one too....

The union buster (former Ford and
Harrison bigwig, Delta Exec VP of "Labor Relations") who hates pilots so much , he came out of retirement to bend us over one last time.

The leaks, introduction of distractions (uniform rumors, pilot-unfriendly FOM changes, productivity meetings with the CP, artificially condensed timeline) have his fingerprints all over them.

Google Michael Campbell.

Forced Extension?

Sorry to interrupt the good flow of pictures (except that dude right above this post).

I have not been asked to extend my duty day yet under FAR 117. Probably because of the category I am in. But I don't understand the problem with refusing.

You call dispatcher and tell him I am not extending. He says call the duty pilot. Call the duty pilot and tell him I am not extending. He asks why. Tell him you will spell it all out in your ASR tomorrow. This is not time critical info and I see no requirement to give any info without taking the time to get your thoughts together. If you were worried you could even talk to ALPA legal to make sure your statement meets all FAA and company requirements.

ASRs take maybe 10 minutes to fill out. I called in fatigued 3 times while on the MD88. All 3 times I filled out an ASR and never heard a thing back.

So how is anyone being forced to extend? Honest question.

Gee, thanks...I thought I had erased my trip with him from my memory.

"Dude"...I have been here 18+ years and only ONCE have I seen a captain yell at rampers so loudly that it could be heard by the pax (and it was truly inappropriate, etc).

Never once have I seen a captain making fun of pax to their face.

While I have seen a couple of captains (appropriately) calling out FAs for poor performance, never once have I seen one "talk down" to them in an obnoxious, arrogant manner.

It seems to me that perhaps you ought to look a little closer in the mirror and ask yourself if you are looking in all the wrong places for people with "issues" or if the issues are creations of your own imagination.

I guess I just have bad luck an managed to fly with the only "bad" guys at delta in 15 months. Right....
We all have issues and bad days, I get it. Maybe I was a little harsh on my previous posts. All I was trying to imply was that not everyone could cut it in the real world at this pay rate. Looking in a mirror, self reflection. I'll give that a shot. Thanks.
