Are we making a transition from underboob to overboob?

You would think.....BUT,, I fly with guys that are complete life disasters quite frequently.. They could not hold a job as a Walmart cashier. The only reason they make the money they do is because they can pilot an airplane...that's it! Zero ability to interact with with people, Multiple divorces, kids hate them, etc. Not all, but I would say a good 25%. To be honest, I was surprised at how many trainwrecks I have flown with only being with the airline for 15 months. With that being said, they have treated me well and are solid pilots, but I am not sure they could easily bring in capt pay in another industry.

With your opinion of airline pilots, this guy might be able to use you:

Yeah, what's the upgrade time? Or do we have to follow the typical career path, deckhand, first mate, chief engineer, captain?

I have a 100 ton master's ticket which with $2.00 will get a small decaf. Most good marine jobs are inside deals, if you check harbor pilots a lot of them have the same last name. The experience level is very high. Engineer is not a career path to deck officer. Sea time, like flight time is logged and verified. An All Oceans-Unlimited Tonnage license make you a minor god. The best part is: THE HAT IS OPTIONAL!
If you have an MSY layover, go down to the ribber and watch the BTR pilots change with the N.O. pilots at 6kts. on the rope ladder. Uniform is checked sports coat and a fedora. Smooth operators them pilots.;)

And 80 Clamp... next time... warn us before you go posting pictures of Moderators!

Sorry guys. Sometimes I like to feel sexy when wielding the banhammer on noobs.

Maybe it's just me, but I think you're way out of line. I've been here a whole lot longer than you and, with a very few exceptions, I've found the people I've flown with to be professional, competent, intelligent, and basically enjoyable to fly with.

Not sure what your pre-Delta background is, and I honestly don't care, but you might want to wind the clock and think twice before you decide to criticize your co-workers on a public forum.

Is that her real name, or stage name? :D

Obviously we have a few pilots with poor judgment.
Some have multiple divorces. Some post on APC.
