Take the train with the wives and you avoid that. They usually beat the crew to the hotel anyway. I am not sure what train but I am sure there will be some significant others you can tag along with.

Done probably 30-40 of these intl DHs. No problem as long as you don't put the uniform back on.

I see there are some trips on the Er in NY that have been busted up, is there anything to keep scheds from doing this and moving the flying to other domiciles?

I was hoping to get a GS, or a more better a GSWC out this...but no.
( I don't normally do them, in fact I only have 1 GS this year )

thanks in advance.

No, they can bust up trips all they want.

What's worse is when guys from other bases OBWS your green slip trips AT STRAIGHT PAY!

The good news is the ER B types are all smart enough now to realize that the WS isn't a viable option. Look at the NYC7ERB coverage almost daily and you'll see all types of letter codes with G, A and H prevalent.

A new trick they've picked up in scheduling is to noop a domestic trip thereby putting the green slipper on 23 K and assigning one of the international trips. Lots of guys though are timing out. I'm avail all this week but bumping up against 100/672.

Just to be clear the above would be contractually illegal. You need to contact contract admin and get assignment pay for the trip. The only way this would be legal is if the first leg of the domestic rotation actually canceled.

I believe that is how they're doing it. Canceling the first leg - in other words using triage to determine which flight to canx.

Crew scheduling does not have any ability to cancel a flight. Those decisions are made well above those levels and with the emphasis on completion rate are not being made to avoid a GS. If however they had no pilot at all to fly a international departure via any coverage step they might at that point cancel a domestic flight to avoid a international cancelation. Completion rates don't support this being a new trick.

At what point do you lose the "new hire" label?

I only ask because I've been asked when i was hired on about 70% of my flights recently. I respond with 2008. They then pronounce me a new hire and welcome me to Delta. LOL.

Not that I mind, but in my head it's like calling a 2nd grader a newborn.

So, what's the standard for not being a new hire around here? :D
