Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Just next down the ladder (steps 13 - 16 & 10 - 11) covers such assignments with conflict on the REG schedule. Those are a bit less of a bitter pill, since they come with pay protection....
Best defense against this, IMO, is to bid for at least one X day at the end of the RES month.
If that doesn't work (for whatever reason), bid for a trip right at the start of your REG month during such transitions from RES to REG. That way, the single-day of RES is less likely to be used (between only being one day of availability, plus potential rest conflicts with the REG trip); and, if you do get used into your REG month, you'll be pay protected for the dropped trip. Of course, if you really need the first day(s) of the month off, that may not help....

I'm trying to drop a trip that starts on October 30th and ends on November 2nd. The pilot reserve levels Reqd/Avail show 26/2 on the 30th, 36/2 on the 31st, 34/24 on the 1st, and 24/25 on the 2nd. I'm willing to use my APD, but I'd prefer to keep it. Will it let me PD the trip because the reserve levels are acceptable on the 2nd, or will I have to use an APD on either the 1st or 2nd in order to drop the trip?

One day someone is going to take that beach out. That KLM 744 gave it a good shot landing short on the blast pad. Which is also what one JetBlue pilot used for takeoff to the detriment of one onlooker.

Another newbie question for a reserve commuter. On your last day of reserve, does scheduling normally release you early if nothing is going on? Or do you have to sit around until midnight and commute home the next day? Thanks in advance.
