Should be 10 hours free from duty if you report for an FDP the next day.
117 says you must have an 8 hour sleep opportunity on any layover. So, if there are rowdy kids in the hallway or the fire alarm goes off in a hotel while you're asleep and they wake you, those are legitimate excuses to call CS and restart your 8 hours. If all you do on your next duty period is DH, that can be preceded by less than 10 hours of scheduled rest.

8 hr rest opportunity. which could be interpreted as 8 behind the door. But that is up to the pilot.... Say you get to your room, but there are circumstances which prevent you from a sleep opportunity.

Question for the contract wizards. If you are a new hire, awarded a reserve line and awarded golden X days, does the OE planner have to honor your golden X days even if they are in your shadow period?

No pb days. It's basically a gs you were assigned.

Newbie waiting to start indoc and have a question. What are the rules on picking up a trip in a different base? Let's say I get NY -88 or 320, could I pick up or trade for MSP flying?

As for swaps between domiciles, that is not allowed at Delta - it would be a two-step process (1) hopefully drop your NYC trip if reserve coverage allows and then (2) be awarded the out of base trip. Welcome to Delta... |

You could pick up (Delta calls that an out of base white slip [single pay and credit] or out of base green slip [double pay but no credit]). However, your request is very low on the trip award "ladder" and it would not be done until with 24 hours/next day flying coverage.

Another question,
What is pay but no credit? Pay is self explanatory. The most significant result of pay with no credit is that it will not affect your maximum pick up limits. For example say you have an 80 hour line with a maximum pick-up of 12 hours. If you are awarded 6 hour Greenslip (no credit) you will still have a 12 hour pick-up. If you are awarded 6 hour white-slip (credit) your maximum pick-up would be reduced to 6 hours. The maximum pick-up is what limits your ability to pick open time with a few exceptions. Scoop |
