Good stuff. Both sides are negotiating. Incoming CEO is saying the right things. I think this piece is a good example of why it is important to keep going the extra mile and doing what we do best. Our success depends upon our reputation in the industry. Other airlines are getting a lot of bad press right now, mainly for service failures. I'm glad we're not them as it would make our task at hand that much more challenging.

Ah gotcha. Didn't know about a pickup max. Thanks.

Unfortunately you're at the back of the long line of other people wanting extra money.

Anyone know if they will give you a hotel on a domicile layover? I have a 5 day in March that changed (they canceled a leg it looks like) and we are staying in ATL one night but no hotel info on rotation.

Point me to right area of contract?

Thanks.

They most certainly will if you are a lineholder which it sounds that you are. Reserve? Not so much.

You will have to call hotel accommodations to have them add it. I suggest doing it sooner than after you land for the day. It has taken them close to an hour in the past when I have forgotten to do it ahead of time. Usually, they will ask you which hotel you want. Long layover or short layover one. Decisions, decisions!

You will. In January, to make a long story short, my original Captain missed our DH to the layover on the first night because he was working the first turn that I missed. They kept him in a hotel for 3 nights in ATL just to stick around to do the last turn of our trip. What sucked was he was a commuter and couldn't justify going home even with 60+ hours free.

What is min time behind door on layover?

Minimum rest is 10 hours. Delta uses 10.5 hours for rest from your last block in time. This is designed to ensure an 8 hour rest opportunity. There is no "behind the door" rule anymore.

What's the difference between Actual and Qualified when looking at trips in open time in iCrew? I couldn't find it in the PWA.

Thanks

Say again?

You still are required to make sure you get at least an 8 hour sleep opportunity. If they schedule you for 10.5 hours of rest and you don't get to the hotel until 7.5 hours prior to report, at the very least you won't be leaving the room for at least 8 hours.

The FAA has already stated it is a FAA requirement of the pilot to inform the company immediately if they become aware they will be unable to satisfy at least 8 hours of sleep opportunity or it is interrupted.

That's my point. It's an 8 hour rest opportunity. The old "8 hours BEHIND THE DOOR" is no longer the rule. The FAR 117 rule is 10 hours free from duty to ensure a minimum of 8 hours of rest.

Actual doesn't have a pilot assigned to it, Qualified is someone trying to drop the trip but do to reserve coverage can not. You can whiteslip either trip, you can only swap with the pot an Actual trip because it's actually in open time.
