Yes. The "A" is CA. A "B" would be FO.

NYC88A..the A means Captain. B for FO.

its more of a not wanting to be junior reserve Captain in NYC. Cover 3 airports, living in a crash pad. If I was 32, single and able to hold captain, I would have done it in a minute, but when I was 32, I was getting furloughed.
