I was told in my last new hire meeting it resets on the first day of your anniversary month, not your anniversary date. My date is middle of February, I used APD in January and it shows that APD is available for use in the February time card.

Do they ask why? Can it just be for personal reasons or do you have to provide proof of something going on?

No, just request it under: PCS>Leaves>Authorized Personal Drops.

FYI; once you APD a day, you cannot fly anything that touches those days. So if you want to pick something else, just request one day of trip to APD. You are then able to white/green slip over the rest of the days.

You can drop (subject to all the normal rules), you just can't add anything to your schedule. Anything on your schedule (via PBS award) will be automatically dropped if you haven't completed training in time (whether or not within the Shadow period).

Well then...forgot about those rules! Assuming this applies to Requal's too?

I guess I wont bother to look at open time until I am complete with training then....back to the books!

I am making that assumption, yes; I don't see why it would be any different (i.e., you're unqualified until the LCA puts "OK" on your schedule, so you can't put more flying on there until you're qualified).

Doesn't it seem like the AE results should be posted by now?

IMHO they are debating about how much to backfill. Backfill is really the only variable once an AE or released. They never have to award the number of posted vacancies.

What about secondary vacations?????

See below from the scheduling reference handbook.

Scoop

X Day Move Rules
X days may be moved, at pilot request, via PCS under “leave requests,” provided:
• the X day(s) to be moved are:
o an entire X-day block,
o the first or last day of an X-day block, or
o a series of contiguous X days that includes the first or last day of an X-day block, and
• reserve availability in the category is sufficient, and
• movement of the X day(s) does not cause an FAR violation, and
• X day(s) are not moved into or out of a scheduled vacation, and
• X day(s) are not moved into or out of the last six days of the current bid period during the PBS bid award process for the subsequent bid period, and
• the X day(s) to be moved begin at least 72 hours after the award date of the move, and
• X day(s) are moved to be contiguous with:
o another X-day block,
o a training day,
o a vacation day,
o a PD/APD day, or
o a day of legal duty.

Thanks Scoop. I couldn't find the language in the contract.
