God, I love this thread. Can you imagine if we were ever able to put together an L&G convention somewhere. The hijinx and shenanigans would be epic.

Also I know the short call out is approx. 2 hours. I could stay about an hour east of JFK and 1:15 from LGA. Is that acceptable or do I need to be able to get to EWR within the 2 hours as well.
From DeltaNet, select IFS from the 'Departments' tab. From there select IFS bases. Select NYC. From there you will see the Crew Runner schedule. As mentioned, it is $2. The downside is that pilots are the last to board. The upside is there are very few crew members going from LGA to EWR. The next best option is to take the Airporter. It is a bus that goes between JFK, LGA and EWR. Cost I believe is $12. Otherwise you're taking the Subway to Grand Central, then the LIR to Jersey and then the Air train. It's all available from Google maps. I've done all 3.

Pay question: I had a recent turn with a scheduled block of 7.55. We flew it in 7.36 but I was paid 7.41. Aren't I due the original block time of 7.55 for pay?

I know it's only a difference of 14 minutes but it's part principle and part education.

Thanks 370. Odd that an automated system would err like this. I suppose I'll be watching my time card like a hawk.

Called Scheduling...they say the "Master Pay Document" showed 7.35. I checked the Bid Package; it shows 7.35 as well.

The scheduler didn't know why my rotation at check-in showed 7.55 but that rotations pay to the originally published time and only more if it goes over that.

Well, color me educated. Gotta refer to the bid package time vs. the block time on your rotation...

tom goodman,

The Raylen Givens Rule:

If you meet an a**hole in the morning, you just met an a**hole.
If you are meeting them all day long, you're the a**hole.

When you first sign-in for a rotiation and print your rotation, if it's close enough to departure time and the flight plan has been generated, the first leg will show the actual blocked time, using the flight plan rather than scheduled. So perhaps the first leg was estimated to be longer, adding the 20 minutes. But when you flew it, you flew six minutes longer rather than 20 thus had only the additional 6 minutes of paid block.
