I don't think guys will be swapping equipment too much. There will always be guys who will choose QOL over pay rates or bigger cockpits. Plus, spending a month on VA ave in the summer is no ones idea of a good time.
Those that do move up to 7ER or 73N, will just be forcing new hires into more 717s and MD 88 right seats. All of the training spots will be spoken for one way or another, the only difference will be less new hire slots on the 7ER and 73N.

I just walked into Abbots off VA Ave and found out that they are asking $95 + tax per pair of pants. 500 yards up the road M & H is selling pants for $53/pair.
Anyone have any experience with the M&H pants? I went cheapo on my last go-round and bought some lookalikes at Kohl's, but they haven't held up.
I figure I can buy M&H pants almost 2:1 vs Abbots. Are they cheap as well? I don't want to be back at this again until I need to add another inch to the waistline.

IMO they were the best of the 3 for quality when they were off the same line as the Navy uniforms but once they made the switch I saw a definite full letter grade drop in quality.

I used to buy abbots, no longer. Best ive found is by Haggar with the comfort waist... i know, but on a 5 hour flight in that seat, leaning back then scrunching forward to the box, eating etc, sooo comfortable. They hold up 20 times longer than what theu sell at the crewstore too.
Amen to that, Haggar comfort waist is by far the best. Also can machine wash on gentle/cold and hang dry to save $$$$. They are on amazon prime, too

Since the ALPA PAC guys are out in full force spreading disinformation and hurling personal attacks, I'll just reply to all of them so as not to clog the thread:
ALPA PAC is there to support the election of very far left liberal democrats. ALPA is affiliated with the AFL-CIO which is also a very far left political organization. ALPA PAC's challenge has been how to get money from airline pilots (who are predominantly conservative politically) to reshape the legislative branch into a left wing political construct. ALPA PAC has chosen the method of calling their left wing partisan agenda "Pilot Partisan." Now they've taken it a step further with the claim that they're winning the Export/Import Bank and NAI agenda with their "Pilot Partisan" efforts. The truth is that any progress made has only been because labor's interests just happen to align with the interests of airline management. If not for that, this would already be lost like age 60 and the rest.
I fully support anyone in their desire to send money to back their political ideology. Just know that ALPA PAC dollars primarily support the electing of far left liberal democrats. Check for yourself on their list of non-incumbents they send money to. It is overwhelmingly in favor of far left politicians. If that's your desire, then ALPA PAC is for you.

To all who read this, do your own due diligence on the ALPA website. ALPA PAC is the fighting the good fight for all of us against the existential threat of our careers--state owned enterprises.
But hey, what would I know...I've only been giving to ALPA PAC for 15 years.

The factor that most probably contributes to sick leave abuse is Capped Reserve Days. You're nailed to the trip because if you can't drop it, you cand get someone to pick it off the Swap Board and you've used your APD you're screwed. And the company can very easily track your efforts to get out of the trip before resorting to a sick call. Unfortunately, Sick Calls generate Green Slips and we must like those enough to have our integrity questioned, but on the off chance we're seeking to remedy the practice,
What about if we negotiated an additonal APD to make 2 a year?
How about a Call in Honest to the CP for a drop?
Or hey, how about moving Out of Base White Slip up in priortity over in base reserve like it was in C2K (when sick leave abuse was much lower) so a guy that wants the trip can fly it?

Sometimes M&H has specials which can drop the price down a bit as well.
