Non-rev question from a newbie...
Trying to non-rev my family of 4 from DFW to SJC, which will take a stop in either SLC or LAX. 1. Is this a stupid/crazy plan to expect to get 4x non-rev seats on multiple flights? I'd rather not shell out the money for confirmed seats. Especially since we're flexible on travel dates. 2. Would you guys list for it in travel net as a round-trip? 2 separate one-way trips? or list for each leg individually? I vaguely remember someone saying during Indoc that there are advantages to listing as either one-way trips or individual legs, but don't have a clue what those advantages are... 3. Anyone have experience checking bags (car seats) while non-revving? I assume they'll go with the first attempted leg and be at our destination ahead of us if we don't get on until later. 4. It'll be my wife's first non-rev experience (mil guy, new to the 121 world), so any additional advice you've got would be appreciated. Thanks for the help... You can purchase the tix via the ID90 website and if you don't use them, you can get a refund. Maybe book for a hail-Mary last flight out on another carrier if all other plans fail. Good luck! |
They generally do not board checked baggage if you fail to get on. May the S/A gods be with you. Wait till the very last minute at the gate even if the flight is overbooked. Never leave the gate till push back. Last night I was #9 for 4 seats, got on.(SA3B)

If you haven't booked these types of tickets on your phone before through DeltaNet, I'd suggest a dry run at home before you leave just so you're not trying to figure it out at the airport. Good luck! |
So if you are non-revving and they lose your bag, and then want to charge 40 bucks to deliver it to your hotel, do you ***** about it? I sucked it up and didn't say a word because I just flew for free with my kids, but man if I had paid for a ticket id be ****ed....

Taking the kids to DEN for a mini vacation in a few weeks. I said screw it and bought 4 tickets on travelnet's fly for less thing. $218/ea. Done. Sick of nonreving hell.
and damn it the flight better be full when we go. :D |

I looked around on DLNet/TravelNet today, and saw something that mentioned needing to be employed for 6 months to be eligible for interline travel, and I'm a Feb hire. Before I write this off as "save for later," can someone confirm that I'm reading it correctly, and that I'm NOT eligible for ID/ZED fares until I've been on property for 6 months? Thanks. |
