Sounds like the Company wants to be able to sell these seats right up to departure time. Not sure why they can't fill these with nonrev's (even COBUS/DH) after all the revenue pax have been assigned -- or is that still allowed?

Blah blah blah. Save your insults for the local middle school twitter feeds. I'm not "siding" with anyone or anything. Maybe there is a "status quo" violation (hint: 90% of those posting here using that term haven't a clue as to what it actually means). Maybe there isn't. It is up to our ALPA leadership to discuss and come to conclusions, then move forward from there, like the PS grievance. If it is, then I expect us to spank the company hard.

But perpetual "boy who Cried Wolf" crisis mode is not leadership nor a 'backbone." This week's "crisis" is next week's barely remembered afterthought, discarded to lament the next crisis.

It's still allowed. In fact the software will fill the non revs into those seats first. The problem is that as a positive space DH in coach there is no software to upgrade you to EC. The non revs will get the seats and you will stay where you are unless you can get the agent to manually upgrade the PSUPS first. Upgrade to first is automatic. Upgrade to EC requires the agent to make it happen. Good luck with that in Atlanta!

Regarding the change in policy to EC - the Union is on it. From a Rep on Chit Chat:

"The MEC is aware of this. I took this to the admin today. There was no warning or consultations with us over this issue. Look for an update from the Communications Committee tomorrow."

It is possible that we would have to wait until a new policy went into effect before it would be considered a status quo issue. Right now they are just saying they will change the status quo in the future. No one has been injured yet.

Atlanta! Sheesh, pfffew, dang!

Other day I show up at the gate 30 minutes before boarding in atl, im positive space on the next flight, ask if she can put me on hers...56 seats available.

Her: i wont do anything unless you are listed on this flight. Double Yew tee eff... So I pull out my iphone to make it all happen, what a pain. She ignores me for the next ten minutes. Thank God for the red coat who actually understood we were in the passenger flying business.

Needless to say, she did not recieve one of the pearl bracelets that I give to good gate agents who actually understand their job.

Atlanta...I hate that place.

Happen to me in DTW a few weeks ago. Gate Agent extremely rude to me with pax's standing around. I'm starting to think I need to call fatigue when I'm fatigue.

I'd rather be the "boy who cried wolf" than the boy who hops into the windowless van with "free candy" spraypainted on the side...and who subsequently wonders why he received something far less enjoyable than free candy. Ymmv.

Anyone have this happen? Listed on a flight. Check in 35 min prior...notice a lot of non revs cleared already. That's weird, if we can still check in. Bring it up to the agent (ATLANTA) that people junior to me have seats. I asked if she cleared people early. Assured me she cleared them when she was supposed to and I was not getting on. Isn't there a reason CHECK IN closes 30 prior. Tried to look in the non rev guide. It says they may start seating non revs 30 prior. Aka after everyone's checked in. Another guy too with a 1980s seniority number was flipping out. Not right!!!
