Sorry to revisit this. First time dealing with a possible "pulled for oe" situation. My rotation has "L" next to a few legs and a note that the captain is doing differences training on a different first officer. Do the L's mean I will not be operating those legs? If so, am I excused from that day and can deviate to get myself into position? (This is day one and I commute)
You will get a call from scheduling the night prior to your rotation. Depending on what training is being given you will most likely be taken off any legs with the "L" beside them.
If you do not receive a call by 2000 the night prior I would call schedule and inquire about it.

Pilot A on reserve this month regular line next month requests GSWC premium flying.
Pilot B (reg or res) in this month & regular line next month does not request premium flying (imagine important family event)
In this situation would either get an IAWC Inverse Assignment with Conflict? If so shouldn't it go to the volunteer first.
This is a very rare event, the unicorn of trip coverage.

Not sure I agree with you. Imagine only two remaining available pilots.
Pilot A on reserve this month regular line next month requests GSWC premium flying.
Pilot B (reg or res) in this month & regular line next month does not request premium flying (imagine important family event)

In your scenario, Pilot A is asking for something that does not exist under our PWA - a GSWC on reserve. You need to look at 23.N.25 (trip coverage greater than 12 hours) and 23.O.21. (trip coverage less than 12 hours). In each case, a reserve pilot on X days gets an IAWC before a line holder gets a GSWC. Ergo, it would be superfluous for a reserve pilot to submit a GSWC on a transition trip where that pilot alao holds a regular line in the next bid because he/she would have to be be awarded the trip on an IAWC before a regular line pilot received a GSWC.

Nope....simply read the PWA (big, long and boring therefore a lot to ask, I know). Herkflyr is kind of right, but for the wrong reason.

Oddly, it would be interesting to see if an out-of-base reserve pilot on golden days could get a carry-out trip that conflicts with a next month trip based on the language of 23.O.23. That is clearly an unintended consequence of poor contract drafting in that your in-base reserve pilot on an (*) day gets bypassed but an out-of-base reserve pilot on an (*) day appears to be eligible. The drafters should have kept the contract language parallel but they didn't and here we are.

You are correct but, again, it can't happen under our current contract language. The Negotiating Committee needs to modify 23.N.26 and 23.O.22 to read "Pilots who have submitted GSWCs" rather than "Regular pilots who have submitted GSWCs..." in order for the unicorn to appear.

On a side note: I do miss out of base white slips going before reserves.
If you want to green slip, is it a GS or GSWC that you have to put in for? Is the GS still double pay, that is, double pay on top of pay protection for dropped OE trip?
