What are you looking for. Seats in bases?

Category List on the Pilot Resources and Sked page. New seats and bases will be on the AE

This is the only thing I use the bank for. You should keep a balance of at least 10 hours in there. If PBS builds you a line under the GS trigger, which I think is 75 hours every month now, and you get a GS you won't get double pay for the hours that take you to 75. You need to have some in the bank to bring it up to 75 so you can get the double pay for the whole thing. I learned that the hard way and always have 10 hours in there to bring me up to to the GS trigger.

You can also fill the bank up if you are expecting a big raise and pull it out when you get the raise. I did this when I was on first year pay and pulled it out on 2nd year pay. The only problem with pulling out your hours is you cannot pull them out all at once. I think you can only pull out enough to bring you up to 82 hours or the ALV + 5. So if you fill it up to 60 it takes some low time months to get the hours pulled out.

I think that the bank is something we should "give up" for those of you who think we need to give stuff up. That and the hat.

Boeing Completes Static Testing on 787 Reinforcements

Boeing has finished the static tests needed to validate the side-of-body modification made to the 787 Dreamliner, the company announced yesterday. Boeing said it expects to conclude a full analysis of the test results in about 10 days. The program needs a successful test result to clear the airplane for its planned first flight next month.

During yesterday’s test on the 787’s static test airframe, engineers subjected the wing and trailing edges of the airframe to the highest loads expected in service. The load amounts to about 2.5 times the force of gravity for the wing.

Boeing announced on June 23 that it would have to reinforce an area of structure at the side-of-body section of the 787. The modification entails installing new fittings at 34 stringer locations within the joint where the wing attaches to the fuselage. The company completed modifications on the first two flight-test airplanes and the full-scale static test airplane earlier this month.

“Today’s test was an important milestone for the program,” said 787 program vice president and general manager Scott Fancher. “We will confirm the test results after the completion of our detailed analysis.”

When in doubt, reach for the magic 8 ball!
  • Signs point to yes.
  • Yes.
  • Reply hazy, try again.
  • Without a doubt.
  • My sources say no.
  • As I see it, yes.
  • You may rely on it.
  • Concentrate and ask again.
  • Outlook not so good.
  • It is decidedly so.
  • Better not tell you now.
  • Very doubtful.
  • Yes - definitely.
  • It is certain.
  • Cannot predict now.
  • Most likely.
  • Ask again later.
  • My reply is no.
  • Outlook good.
  • Don't count on it.

BTW -- I'm lining up alternate school plans just like ACL. I have the program, the school, and the $$$, but I don't have the time. Hence when/if the axe falls, I'll actually have something positive to look forward to . . .

Do not read that way in to it. Point is, now is the time to get another degree done, when there is time to do it. That is all. We will be hiring in the next few years either way. (Barring a economic meltdown greater than what we have seen)

Always a good thing to keep learning.

If that happens it may not matter what other degrees we have. I have many friends with all kinds of degrees that have had trouble finding work.

I'm training my Pomeranian to be a world famous circus fluff. He's my secret weapon to millions of dollars.

Default Reserve Question for yall

Say you start short call at 1500 and your or on call for 24 hours. For domestic purposes, I can not take a trip if it extends me over my FAR Duty Limit of 16 hours (0700 the next day) correct?

So, what's the difference if I take a two man international trip at 0800 the next day while still on short call?

The difference is that Whitlow does not apply to international ops.
