I FCR'd an operational issue re. gate planning in MSP last month. Was very specific...flight numbers, gates, names of gate agents (who were awesome!), gate planners (who were not), and times. Only thing I lacked was a pedometer.
Not only did I not hear anything back from it, even though I requested a detailed response, but the next time I passed through MSP I changed planes from D4 to G20...on a 45 minute turn.
Think I'll waste my time on another FCR?

I have taken the time to write numerous detailed FCRs. I'm tired of getting a one sentance don't GAS "fill the square"responses from some middle manager...I'm done. I might as well call my dog and complain to him. At least he listens.

Correction to my original gripe. I did get a response, but it was just like yours.
I am sure the middle manager that responded thought just like the gate planner in MSP: "bunch of whiny pilots."
Fine with me. My physiology and sanity come before their metrics. I'm still going to cleanse the bowels, fill 'em back up, and ET phone home before we push.

Oh, got ya. But I'm a pretty junior FO and I drive to work here. Just moved into base a year after getting awarded it, very recently actually, (waited for the kids to finish the school year). It's really not that bad. You should try it. Driving to work really does not suck.

Very true, unfortunately I had to change the plates on my airporter three times as DAL was chasing me around closing bases.:(

You submitted an FCR on an operational planning concern that crossed at least 3 departments. What specific response were you looking for?

If you get a hotel room that is truly unacceptable for whatever reason(noise, dirty, no A/C,etc) try to switch rooms. If you can't switch rooms then call Delta to move to another hotel for the night. They will get you another hotel and problem solved. I don't think FCR's help much unless numerous people complain about the same hotel.

Perhaps you just highlighted the problem with the FCR system. One department kicks the can to the next department and then to the next. Problem remains and another crew member loses faith in the FCR system. Sadly, it seems you have to just let the wheels come off the cart. At least that might get their attention.

What qball said.
More important than a response would be results. Gate changes have been mentioned as a high visibility item in multiple flight ops coms over the last couple years. One would think that a royal F up (both times several gates in close proximity to our departing gate were wide open when we arrived) would garner some attention and get fixed.
Apparently one would think wrong. I have made my peace and counted to three re FCRs.
