You should have picked up some help on bidding. You should have bid a high time line with all trips in the training window. Say 82 hours at that point. Now if you have 3 2 day off periods in that time you were scheduled for the required 11 days off. 5 before training and 6 during. You decide however to pick up a 4 day trip on 1 to 4 oct. You get 22 hours for that trip. Plus you get 4 payback days in your bank. Now you are getting 104 hours plus 4 payback days worth at least 5:15 a day later. Value of the month is now 125 hours give or take.
The fun really starts for you in Nov. Get smart on how to bid and you will kill it if you have training or shadow period spilling over! Edit: since the pickup is voluntary not sure on the payback days for the WS. In my case the 4 day trip added was IOE so I was awarded the PB days. Newbies who might be trying to follow... at Delta Air Lines, you do not bid for trips within the footprint of your training. You get training pay, based on your category ALV (new or old category, depending on your conversion date in the month)...and that pay is at or near the bottom of our peer group. |

Even better if you have the pickup grab a carryout trip at the end of this month with credit. I am also unsure why you could not place a carryout trip on the last day unless you are fairly junior in category.

I think I get it. You should however still be able to fly a trip the first 5 days of the month if you desire. Does anyone care to speculate how delta will use the 330-900s coming in early 2019? And when the first 330 bid for those will be?
I've heard Seattle to Asia and I've heard Atlantic stuff Will this plane be used out of all bases? Straight replacement for 767 flying? |

Its a 330 and we already have those so its not a new category. They will add appropriate additional positions on every AE just like they do with every other existing fleet that grows or not to cover projected manning. Its no different than the 737-900's or A321's were still taking delivery of. |

What do you mean by "first bid for these"?

Thoughts on ER flying out west? Looking at LAX, SEA or SLC for the October AE - pretty junior (12,XXX) still and commute from Denver.
SLC is best commute on paper but it's wicked busy. LAX treats me well enough currently and never have much issue getting to SEA either. Wondering which has the best mix of flying, it's hard to discern looking at bid packages and awards, eyes going crossed sorting through it all. First hand knowledge appreciated! |
