Your talking about a route Delta flew for years and is now resuming. It's not a "new" route.
What he said is true. It is good news. It helps the staffing and gives the ATL guys something else to bid. (You know it is all about ATL pilots.) |

I know Sailingfun has a big target on his forehead, but it is pretty much a new route. Or if you like a "revived dormant route". Or an abandoned route rediscovered. Just words.

What he also failed to mention was we actually tried the route two other times. We never got within a country mile of making it profitable. This will be the first time we feed it from both ends and it's expected to stick.

We announced a new route yesterday that will generate over 40 pilot jobs and almost 3000 pilot block hours per month and not a single mention of the flight on any Delta thread. If this route had been picked up by China Eastern it would have rated its own thread and 20 pages of posts. We truly are a forum of doom and gloom only. We also added LAX to MEX.

Did I miss the accompanying announcement that the canceled 787 orders were back on? Or that the cancel...I mean "deferred" 350s won't be cance...I mean "deferred"? And did we announce an increase in hiring? Optimism is good, but when you're taking one step forward in the sand and sliding 5 back, I don't care how optimistic you are, you're still going backwards.
Who exactly is sliding backwards? Basically from 2001 to 2008 most guys were going backwards or possible sideways not to mention the unlucky 1000+ who hit the street. Life got a little better after the merger dust settled but advancement was still pretty slow. In 2012 most started to see slow but steady progress. In 2015 it actually stated to get very good, now it is fantastic. Optimism is good, skepticism is also good but I don't really understand your post. We actually had years were we really did take 1 step forward and 5 steps back but thankfully that is no longer the case. What am I missing? Scoop - guardedly optimistic. :D |

My sliding backwards comment is in reference to our international/ widebody growth, or lack thereof.
Stand by for the sales job(s). |
