We have our fair share of salesjob type of kool-aide type posters but you know what? We also have our fair share of doom and gloom everything sucks posters who would describe a wet-dream as a nightmare.

The beauty of the Forums is that we can take it all in, hear both sides, and make up our own minds.

Yes, some AC orders have been deferred - that sucks, not the end of the world and not all is doom and gloom.

Yes, we are in a record hiring spree - times are good, that does not make this the land of perpetual milk and honey.

Reality is somewhere in between but in my opinion much closer to the positive side.

Its being discussed at the rep level, at least theoretically. Both in the context of more large RJ relief as well as to take the sting out of a massively one sided KA JV (AM wasn't specifically mentioned, but it stands to reason its part of the puzzle too but that's TBD).

I agree with that. Things are so good right now that we can probably even afford to score a few own goals and still be #winning. But that doesn't mean we should expect, facilitate or tolerate it.

PS is great. It makes me happy. But it doesn't distract me enough to sell jobs, top or bottom end jobs doesn't matter. We gave at the office already, excessively enough as it is.

Gloopy and others like him have the right idea. Scope is absolutely crucial and the cavalier attitude that some have toward scope is disturbing. There are parallels between the RJ scope give that we're now slowly taking back and the widebody scope give that we are facilitating now. Big difference is that the company is printing $$ to the tune of BILLIONS and we keep caving on scope as if they need it.

I've been a long time observer of these forums / DALPA politics and only recently started posting. In my observation time, I've seen the company and DALPA hold up some false positives only to distract from what's actually going on. Sailing's post is a good example of how that is employed. "Hey look, ONE more route added...don't mind the 18 x 787s that were cancelled (casually ignored by you) or the 10 x 350s (that will likely be cancelled) - all while we add JVs that are heavily weighted in the foreign carrier's favor". I'm tired of seeing that crap play through so...if you are referring to me as one of the doom and gloom guys, I don't care. I'm going to call it the way I see it.

Absolutely - call it the way you see it. That is what makes this place worthwhile, plenty of opinions and viewpoints all adding to the discourse.
