The closest available replacement for the 75 niche markets....is a 76.

Question is can it be had at a marginally adjusted 73 price point.

The non-niche 75 markets can be ably flown by the 73/320.

It was designed to replace the 727 and 707 on domestic routes to secondary cities. This was the thinking in the 1970s. The ER helped open ETOPS routes, and the -300 became the standard 767.

People forgot about the 767-200. But that is really the perfect airplane to fly LAX-JFK or make it an ER and fly it over the pond or to Hawaii. Those old Non Fadec GEs were wonky, and it flew like a truck, but it was a very capable aircraft. I would LOVE to see that return. Comfortable, fast, capable and very reliable. Passengers would love it too, and it carries cargo!

That would be Boeing dumping cheap airframes on the market. Not fair😜

And as a current 737 Pilot I really love the fact that the cockpit was designed for real live human beings!

Unfortunately, it's a lot more expensive to build vs. the 737. And likewise more expensive to acquire...

We called it the “Dump Truck”. It had room for jumpseaters and plenty of luggage, and the brakes would squeal like a thousand pigs.

Hey, we still have one. Throw some oil in it and crank her up.
