“Doesn’t fit well in our network.” They say the same thing when asked why we only have 20ish 777’s.

What exactly is it about our network?

Our network is a 7 airport hub to 6 big destinations and like 15 small ones.

We service the destinations by a wide variety of aircraft to include 748s, 380s, 346s, 345s, 333s, 332s, 773s, 772s, 350s, 787s...

and then whatever we fly on the routes.

If true. Probably why we will never see 773s and 350-1000s. Even used

Supposedly after the Gulf Air 763s Delta has never done the used widebodies routine, I believe. Could be wrong.

Not sure if NWA ever did it either but I dont think they did.

Ah, the Gulf Air 767’s. I can’t believe a customer ever ordered, let alone Boeing offered, an airplane with no cabin gaspers.

What were we even thinking?

Same engineers working on the 350 Delta One design?

I ZED-fared in Asia this spring (China Eastern A330 and Asiana A350) and both of those (brand new) planes had no cabin gaspers either. I had the same reaction as you as I drowned in my pool of sweat for the whole flight...

Do the overheads just not come down far enough to make it worthwhile to put them in?

That’s plane criminal, much like the new 737 gaspers complete lack of airflow.
