Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Just read this months planning/staffing newsletter. They are actively looking to drive credit as low as possible in the name of profit and productivity. Time to put to teeth in our contract and take back our QOL from the 4th floor!

Think of it like this: an optimized run is done with absolute minimum cost/credit. Then planners use a credit “budget” allocated by their managers, to improve the bid package for pilot preference. Those “budgets” have been dramatically cut in the last 24 months or so.
Side effect of that: the PWA provision that requires the first legal deadhead forces messed up redeye+deadhead trips when credit can’t be spent to avoid them. This stuff needs to be fixed at the contract level

They talk out of both sides of their mouth. Depends on their audience.

Above GSWC puts too high of a priority on it and too much encouragement to try to drop to gamble on premium.
Everyone doesn't have to do it, only enough to destroy the reserve grid and no one else can swap trips or get extra actual days off. In some categories, just a couple pilots doing it would make that happen.
This is why I think the priority needs to be appropriately low to reduce the incentive to drop with that intention.
The folks I know who want to fly green slips do so to make a lot of money. You often hear "everyone would drop their whole schedule", but doing this a couple times without fruitful trips to boost income beyond the top of the LCW would end that quickly. There's only so much to drop, and to pick up. And if "everyone" can do it (with minimum reserves met), "everyone" is available to pick them up... so you wait in line for all those folks to get their 1st before you get your second.
My category rarely has anything desirable (if anything) in open time. Even if I couldn't drop my stuff, it sure would be nice to at least swap with the pot and at least improve my initial award.
I don't think behavior would change much in the end, but every time you flew premium (without the trigger), you'd know it was for 100% premium pay.

Anybody at ATL base Meeting?
Did anybody attend Friday’s Atlanta base meeting. I saw Jim Graham was going to be there. Any tidbits from what he might’ve said?
