When do vacation bids start ? Don't we usually start bidding around this time of year?

You can bid now if you want. It’s open in iCrew. Weeks available don’t show yet but does that really change your bid? Of course if you’re senior to me, bidding opens in February

Have CQ next month. Did the request for hotel in ICrew. Saw on my schedule they confirmed the wrong hotel nights. Who do I email to get it changed? I even took a screen shot this time of dates. Would it be accommodations or training?

My first call is usually Pilot Assist for oddball things like this. They will point you in the right direction if they can't do it themselves. The Pilot Assist app on the iPad works well also.

Anyone use a pattern bid for reserve?

I had a pattern bid in for Jan with 1 to 3 days on with minimum 1 day off. PBS built me two 5 day blocks and a 6 day block, the reasons report just says not honored. Except for the first couple of days of the month reserves available vastly outnumber reserves required So I can’t figure out why it wouldn't build the pattern I wanted.

I went ahead and built the pattern with the first 2 PCS runs of the month but would rather not go thru the work when it seems PBS should have done it for me.

I submitted a PBS bid inquiry but haven’t heard back.

Do you have an else start next or clear schedule start next? Might be helpful to see the entirety of your bid.

it was a one line bid. Didn’t care what days I worked, just wanted the pattern.

No else start or clear schedule.

I could be completely wrong on the logic, but my guess would be that it could follow the pattern for the majority of the month but there was one spot it couldn’t so it tossed the whole month. I would follow up with an else start next and use a backup bid with number of days on and minimum base layover to preserve the rest of the month. I believe the pattern is all or nothing and the other two are as many as it can award.

My bid titles are probably not completely accurate since I haven’t been qualified to look at PBS since June so I’m a bit rusty, but they should be close. There’s also probably much better ways to handle getting what you are looking for but this was my strategy.

yeah I’ll do that next time. I know the pattern is all or nothing but at least from my perspective there were multiple ways it could have built that pattern. I’ve never used the number of days on bid. I’ll give it a try.

In my experience 3 days on is the minimum block pbs will award (assuming you are a NB) if I want only 3 day blocks I bid for prefer on min = 3 and max = 3 days, it will usually then build me as many 3 day blocks it can in accordance with max x day grouping being honored and then claim partially honored in reasons report. Often I get 3 three day blocks, then a four or five... Make sense? Plus in before 20k.
