Thanks Denny!! How ya been? But, what about an out of base green on days you're on call? I'm assuming that's a conflict with your on call days? A moot point, I just got a 5 day that takes me to 77 something so I'll be done for the month.

I miss Amsterdam and sitting around with you and other APCers. But I did have a great 12 day Asia with a Singapore last week......except the beers in the famous Long Bar were 28 Singapore Dollars:eek: I didn't bother having the Singapore Sling......it was too hot for a sweet drink and they were over 30.

All in all, I like this Capt thing. People actually laugh at my stupid jokes. Guess they feel obligated:D

I'm doin' fine! Heading to my 40th high school reunion this weekend. Should be fun! In answer to your question, I think the company would just DH you to cover the trip if you have enough on call days.

question for 330 guys who live in base. What is the qol like at the bottom quarter of the list? I am thinking of bidding this fall or next year Ive heard from some people it's hit or miss.

It depends on the base and how you weight the particular trips for QOL. If you are in NYC and value long Asia, you are out of luck. If you are in ATL and want 6 day Europe with MSP and DTW layovers, life will be good. Seasonal fluctuations impact the bases as well. Last year the ATL 330 was the dedicated MED plane. If you were in the bottom half of the list, DEET became a higher priority than toothpaste and shaving cream when packing.

NYC has mostly 3 day Europe, with occasional 6 day trips through MSP or ATL. Lots of 15:45 trips, with the 6 day 33:00+ trips going senior. The seasonal late ATH trip is a tough commute on the back end, so it is great for a local. The two day LAX is an easy 12 hours for true locals. If you are a 4 hour PA "local", maybe not.

ATL currently has a mix of 3 and 6 day Europe with 3 day trips going senior. Last fall, the bottom half of the list was flying 4 day deep South America.

DTW has the best mix of Asia and Europe.

SEA flys mostly Asia with some CDG and AMS in the mix.

DYODD and scan a few of the bid packs. I'd recommend pulling a few months of each category across various seasons of the year.

If you deviate deadhead on an international trip, will the deviation also be in business? Thanks!

If there are seats available at the time of booking then yes.

was looking at a trip in same day open time, it's now no longer in open time, it's assigned to a pilot from another base, and not showing up in daily trip coverage. it's like they completely gutted the rotation because it's stacked onto the current pilot's schedule. can they do that? the rotation history shows SPLT then NOOP. Captain's rotation stayed in tact...FO was gutted.

sounds like they rerouted somebody into it on the FO side.

Is there a crew outfitters/stop over store in either JFK or SLC? If not, is the one in DTW open on Sunday? Or Saturday? Thanks.

They can move a trip from one base to another as part of the trip coverage ladder if no one in the base wants the trip via a ws or YS and they are out of reserves. If the trip is moved it can only be flown by a reserve in the new base. It should in fact have shown up in the trip coverage for the base it was moved into.
