Were there any comments on staffing?

acl65pilot 01-01-2010 03:48 PM

I bet there will be but it is a little too early for that. They stated max tng till June.

Have you guys seen the DALPA forum, one of the South smart guys put everything in a database and derived the average pay change for North/South was within $.30. Won't post it here without permission but check out "Here's the Bid" thread.

Exactly. I love em, but only do em as a line holder.

The MD's would have been worse if they did not keep ppl in ATL. A pessimist would state that it looks like we are setting up for furloughs, but that is not the case.
Just said it and refuted the glass half empty guys to get around it.

Now some of you with time on your hands needs to figure out how many positions went unfilled. FtB?

It takes a while to pour through the pages but my prediction on how many pages we'll have will fall short. :(

I was hoping they'd take ATL fat on the 88B and elated they did but I'm just now getting a chance to pour into the bid and am curious to see what went down with LAX and NYC. You know this cellphone commercials where they make the point how the new customer gets everything while the current ones get nothing? Just concerned that may happen with an AS merger to the detriment of LAX and SEA.

Odd day, the relief from the bid made listening to the Auburn game much more palatable but my word people?!? Glad we won because I knew the craziness of that game would garner replay after replay.

They beefed up the NYC ER.

do you mean they added seats there? There were 5 md and a boat load of vd. I haven't done the math yet.

acl65pilot 01-01-2010 04:16 PM

Over 500 seats is what I count. I could be wrong though. I just did a quick glance.

Auburn choked. They had the lead, what was it 35-21 with 5 minutes left in the 4th? Auburn's problem is a lack of experience and depth which always seems to get exposed during a coaching change.

The person who did not choke as odd as it sounds is the NW QB, 5 interceptions is really bad, but he never gave up.

IMO, borrowing from Colin Cowherd, if I were buying stock:

PAC-10... sell fast.
SEC... stay (I'd say sell if so many teams weren't so young this year)
Big 10... buy although I do not like the Big 10 in any way and they're good run this bowl season doesn't mean that much but look for an undefeated OSU in 2010
Big 12... stay.
ACC... sell, always sell.
Big East... sell.

That was quick. I wonder if he factored in those of us that were pay protected(7ER) but took a VD to a plane two scales lower(A320) and thus lost said pay protection?

Just went and asked the question and he sees cranking up the interview process in October this year and new hires coming in the door by Nov/Dec. He mentioned DAL has to "flow-through" 20 Compass and 9 Mesaba guys per month before anyone is hired off the street. I was surprised to hear they don't have do any interview of any kind, no probationary period, they just fill out a bid on their companies' eCrew system. He said they want input and feedback about whatever is on our minds so I immediately put in a plug for the (real) Midwest guys and he said the troops doing the hiring were well aware of the Midwest situation and that they'd definitely be taking a good look at every one them that applied.
