Just for your information guys. Last time I was told we would be hiring at DAL on Dec 22, 2006. That was when Air Apps was approved to be the vendor for the applications. The first interview group came in a month after than and was in class a few weeks later. We have plenty of time.

We could conceivably have SOC Dec 31, interview invites out Jan 2 pilots interviewing a few weeks after that, and in class by early Feb. We did it last time and all of that frame work is still there. Add to it that the former indoc leader is doing the exact same type of work for the NWA guys. point is that it is a real small leap to go from here to there.

And that was after not hiring pilots for something like 5 years. Delta had to ramp up the online app and get it all organized. Delta just stopped hiring a year and a half ago, so it should be a lot easier.

True - there is also some denial from us, in that we don't want to hear the truth. For example, someone who really wants to fly the 747-400 might not want to admit that it might be going away - or someone living in ANC not believing the base is closing.

True. I just pointed out that there are a lot of smart people on these boards that post a lot of stuff we can talk about. Most of it is three or four ridges away. That is too long for many pilots to deal with.

If you want to look long term, I am looking at things that we are planning for the 2018-2022 time frame. My God I would not even talk about that crap on here as it would drive people nuts that it will not happen by Christmas.

Well, and when oil price double and the plan changes because it's now economical, they would probably claim you were making it all up. (well, you're such a dependable source that I think we all know, but some might claim that about others)

My point exactly. The office spaces et al are easily accessed unlike last time. Plus most of the people that interviewed last time are still here and still up to speed. Point is that we could do it in two to three weeks if they OFFICIALLY decide to hit execute.

BTW most of this stuff is leaked by design, do not be so stupid to think otherwise.
