Yes - BUT you ask the "iceman" to do a wing tactile check! :D

Because it is a cold soaked wing issue, it comes up outside of ground icing conditions for every other airplane. It is part of the walk around.

Besides, you look good to the passengers dragging a ladder from ten gates away in a double breasted coat and hat.

I was in Boston once when the blankets were inop. The ground guys did the inspection.

They can also convert you to SC with 10 hours notice.

I save my schedule every time I check it to a PDF file which I over write. In the event a "surprise" short call gets you, then you have a document to refer back to for clarification.Do you think this is ever intentional?

I'm not calling "shenanigans" but it does sometimes appear they manipulate the system with these surpise short calls to avoid proffers, premium pay and white slips for the line holders.

I don't think so Bar. Look at the daily coverage on the NY ER B and you will see a lotta Gs and Ws and very few Ss. Reserves up here are window dressing.

Yes - I did this for many years before the blankets were installed on the 88s. Even in FL!

We sure did. A ladder and a 7 foot piece of PVC pipe for the "tactile" test.
And if it didn't pass the test we'd fetch the mop and a 5 gallon bucket of glycol. :D
