I don't think so either, but SOC is only 4-6 weeks away, from what people have posted here. We also don't have a pilot hiring group, so that might take some time to get together. But, Delta is accepting applications, so that's a start.

It is interesting that this came out though. I just think that the posting is a error on someone's part. The words are not written by DAL. It is horribly worded.

Actually, those words are written by Delta:

"We are proudly recruiting pilots for first officer positions. As a new Delta first officer, you have an opportunity to initially be assigned to a MD88/90, a 737NG, or even a 757/767 aircraft type among our fleet of more than 440 aircraft. To qualify for employment as a pilot with Delta, you must meet all of the following requirements."

from Delta - Pilot Basics which you get to from delta.com by clicking on "Careers" at the bottom of Delta.com, then "Pilot" then "Delta Pilot Basic Qualifications"

If we needed pilots for next summer we would have to do something soon. When I was hired I really had no delays and it took just about 4 months to get on line!! And about 2 months from interview till class and I took the first class offered!!!

I know nadda is official but wishful thinking on my part!!!

Super, people do not want my thoughts, they want what I know. ;)

Well the part I do not like is the "or even a 757." Yuck!

Also FWIW that is from last round.

something must be up if they're have personnel working on changing the website. If they had no intention why would they waste the time to start advertising and changing the website?

Just for your information guys. Last time I was told we would be hiring at DAL on Dec 22, 2006. That was when Air Apps was approved to be the vendor for the applications. The first interview group came in a month after than and was in class a few weeks later. We have plenty of time.

We could conceivably have SOC Dec 31, interview invites out Jan 2 pilots interviewing a few weeks after that, and in class by early Feb. We did it last time and all of that frame work is still there. Add to it that the former indoc leader is doing the exact same type of work for the NWA guys. point is that it is a real small leap to go from here to there.

True - there is also some denial from us, in that we don't want to hear the truth. For example, someone who really wants to fly the 747-400 might not want to admit that it might be going away - or someone living in ANC not believing the base is closing.

What you do not get is that these boards are monitored by the FOM's in flt ops. Issues that are pointed out on here, like a change on a website, or the fact that journey works for I-crew are brought to the attention of the VP's and the lawyers so that they can meet the issue at the pass, or put it in the Trim Tab for all to see.

It is smart work by smart people! They are protecting DAL's best interests.
