One more RSV question. If you put in a yellow slip for a specific trip on a specific day, does it stay "active" until the trip is assigned or until you pull the request?

It stays active.
Like I said, there are two ways to yellow on reserve.

Reduce RAW by 15 pts which does not have qualifiers. You can add them to your prefer if fly request, which I do and get with decent success.

Off day fly. This is a yellow with qualifiers and they are not required to honor them.

So, if the trip is awarded, and this is still in there they can assign anything on that off day. The do not adhere to the qualifiers. So yellow with care. I add and pull them though out the day. I almost never fly on an off day. Not in the winter! I will reduce my raw so I can get the trip I want though.

As for the replacement plan for the 100esque seat lift, the plan is done, and the only thing left to do is hit execute. I mean that too. It many not be right at 100 seats, but it will be DAL's answers to it. (I also as I have been saying for some time, see this coming sooner than later. The chatter has been so loud lately, that I cannot get any sleep! ;) )

JMO, but I'm thinking MD-90's with more fuel efficient engines could be picked up for less then $10 million a piece. They will obviously have more seats then a DC9-50(125), but at that price you could probably fly them with 100 pax & still turn an operational profit.

I have NO idea, I'm just guessing. ;)

That is a 160 seat jet. BTW. We are taking 183 seat jets off routes for 142 seat jets, do you think we would fly a 160 seat jet where a 100 seat is needed? (Yield control. We do not know it and will dump seats even if we do not need to!)

They have also hit execute on that one fwiw! That is a DC 9-40/50 replacement, but will be 1 for 1 with the 30's that are being parked. We are talking long term mainline growth with the 100 seater. Do not look short term, but 10-15 years down the road.

Well, with the way I guess it's clear I just need to keep paying my financial advisor.

I clearly don't know what's going on. :o

Oh you are correct that we are now authorized by the board for up to a flet of 65. Up from 35 six months ago FWIW. We have identified the 90's we want as well!

I still think the process stunk. If it were done in reverse, I'm sure that there would have been substantial howling of how "the man" controls the communication...:(

LD was not "excluded" in any way whatsoever. He chose not to participate. Just re-read his most recent campaign email if you are unclear on this.

Just curious... how exactly could this "process" have been done "in reverse"?

I guess we are still looking @ a net loss of airplanes though? If the MD-90's are a replacement for the DC9-40/50's, but will come 1 for 1 with each DC9-30 that is parked eventually it's a loss in terms of the DC9. Perhaps the void will be filled elsewhere? :)
