Yes and let's not forget that it can also replace 319/320 and 737 flying as well!!!!!! Hopefully everyone realizes this isn't just a "bottom guy" issue! it effects everyone in one way or the other be is commutes, upgrades, schedules, overnights, earnings, etc!

Heyas,

I got shipped to Asia this week for the first time on the 757.

Whole different scene out here, and lot's o' good rumors (not necessarily true). Seems the farther away from Mecca you get, the more fertile the rumors.

Where to start? Some of these conflict, so they are presented in no particular order:

SOC is actually in hand, and the company is sitting on it.
SOC will be at, or around, Christmas time.
MEGA bid around the same time. All seats and bases will be up for grabs.
777 in DTW
787 canceled, to be replaced by 777
787-8s canceled for 787-9s
330s from USAir's canceled international service
Some gigantic announcement by the muckity mucks here in NRT about lots of new international flying that will have all DAL pilots yelling "yippie"
Guam base
Guam base with 737s
Guam base because Cal Mike is pulling down.
C-series order
DC-9-30 pull down coincident with C-series arrival
There are werewolves in the woods around Narita City

That's all for now.

Nu

Why the continuous hash and rehash of this issue? Does anybody in their right mind think we're going to give the company more relief on scope? Or that there wouldn't be a blanket party for anyone that tried? Or that they can take any more from us? One thing I have no doubt about is that the 737-200 and DC-9 replacement will be flown by Delta pilots.

There is no doubt that there will be no givebacks on scope. The company understand that and the union does. I would be surprised if the company even asks and if they do it will be a throwaway item.
The 100 seat aircraft however I don't think is coming ever. The company last ordered a 100 seat aircraft in 1983. That is 25 years ago. They have been promising a 100 seat aircraft since 1991 when the DC-9's were retired. Every time a new contract is coming up they trot out the same presentation on the 100 seat aircraft they are about to purchase. Never happens. John Malone giving them the E170/175 is enough for them. Even had we not given it up I don't think you would see a 100 seat aircraft.

This whole thing is just ridiculous. Nothing against LD, to the best of my knowledge there are not any legal concerns, if there are DALPA should state as much. Furthermore, if bylaws were broken, were the candidates provided this information so as to have the ability to comply with the bylaws?

I don't care if a little green man comes to ask the candidates questions, that doesn't make the questions any less relevant.

The by-laws were not broken, and ALPA National was consulted. No one was maliciously doing anything. No one to my knowledge wanted to do anything illegal nor devious. It there was something done illegal or something that had broken by-laws, we all would have known about it by now.

A regional jet. :(

Not your Daddy's regional jet. That my friends is the E-195, an airplane that RJET is flying for about 116 an hr if they have any super senior guys there, which they do not. It seats almost 100 passengers. It is a 2000nm bird that goes from the Mid-west to the West Cost three times a day.

That is a mainline jet, and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. It performs better than a DC-9. Go look and see what Jet Blue pays guys to fly it.

And I can say with absolute certainty that out of that group there is/are many true and factual statements. (Looking for some awesome property btw ;) )

As it pertains to the C-Series, I hope to God that we just do what you state. It is better than trying to band-aid ourselves with the 195(DCI) to the C-Series arrival.

Either way there are going to be a lot of very interesting announcements in the next four to eight weeks.....

There may be some truth to that. I freely admit that. I often wonder if the company would by an aircraft with 100 seats in it when the CRJ's have 76. There will always be a gap between the largest DCI airframe and the lowest mainline airframe. Problem is that a great deal of the cities we are serving with the 76 seat jets are better suited for a 95-110 seat jet. The company knows that.

As for the replacement plan for the 100esque seat lift, the plan is done, and the only thing left to do is hit execute. I mean that too. It many not be right at 100 seats, but it will be DAL's answers to it. (I also as I have been saying for some time, see this coming sooner than later. The chatter has been so loud lately, that I cannot get any sleep! ;) )
