Acl,
Do not ever forget those words. I have know many a good man to say the same thing only to become a steward for the Union once they go to Herndon and drink the cool aide. Personal good friends that let themselves become Union first over the pilots, and I have lost good friends over this. Sort of like the self serving politicians in DC. I hope you never have to eat the above words. Good luck to you. |
Did you guys notice this tidbit yesterday?
Delta's net loss for 2009 was $1.2 billion, including $169 million in special items. Excluding special items and $1.4 billion of fuel hedge losses, Delta's net profit for 2009 was $291 million. Delta further benefits from a strong cash position and a low cost per available seat mile, a metric used to compare airline performance. Although this cost increased in the fourth quarter, it remains lower than competitors including Continental Airlines Inc (CAL.N) and AMR Corp (AMR.N), the parent of American Airlines. "Delta remains the only airline with a positive 2010 operational story -- everyone else is counting on yield and traffic growth to cover increasing unit costs," analysts at CreditSights said in a report. "Now able to combine both airline units, the marketing and organizational synergies of the world's largest airline can be fully realized," they said |

All I can tell you is that my motives are pure. I like to help out where I can. I enjoy being of service. Part of the reason I love this board so much. Answer what I know, and offer what I think. Noting more nothing less.

No not mad just sad. These results would be meaningful if we were still 2 seperate airlines with 2 seperate managements. We had a much leaner Ship at NWA. We all know who bought the most cash to the table with this merger and the huge improvement in DAL cash position after the merger. If you don't want to hear this then don't do an unfair comparison of the 2. We only hope and pray that our new management knows what it is doing as it dismantles a company (NWA) that was very successful over it's life. You would not know anything about the dismantlement because you are not seeing it or living it on the DAL side. That is to be expected in a merger. So if we have bad feelings or angry feelings it is more directed at management for what they are doing. The jury is still out. Again, I hope and pray that they know what they are doing for all of us concerned. Good luck to us all.

If I would run, it would not be in C44. It appears that these four will be here through the new contract. Who knows what will develop, but I assume they will run again in 2012. Lots o options, maybe I should run in DFW :D I keed I keed.
My platform will be, "Promising a complete lack of condescension and fully implementing 21st century communications technology to better the pilot group, airline and profession...in that order" In reference to previous fear mongering posts about who reads what...feel free to PM me anytime for my name, employee number and blood type. There should be no fear of reprisals for open discourse and free speech in any format. Discussing a work action, for example...is not INCITING a work action, nor is it condoning it. I've been thinking over the last couple of days about the poor schmuck, if there is one, tasked by management to monitor the Delta thread on APC. Poor guy. He probably aspires to much more in life than weeding through the Hunter Thompson-like musings and frat boy humor that he sees here.
Raise a toast. Here's to you DAL APC board monitor guy! |

I'm guessing that, by now, the guy has either become as depraved and cynical as most of us who post on here and is actually enjoying it...or, he's lost all semblance of a life, is probably divorced by now, no longer goes out with the boyz on VA Ave because "they just don't get him anymore." I think we should come up with a nickname for said APC monitor guy. I have a feeling that either 80 or FTB has a few tricks up their sleeves. Raise a toast. Here's to you DAL APC board monitor guy! |

Just thought I ought to point out this guy insulting an entire group and no one calling him out.........again. The difference between the life of a junior pilot at DL and one at NWA over the last 10 years has been stark. Very stark. The fDL group was the model of unselfishness during the worst time in airline history. I'll take the results of this smart, unselfish, and apparently "weak" group any day.
