Understood. JV's provide cash flow. My point is, I am tired of hearing that JV's are good for us. End of story. Do not question the details, the mechanics or the structure of them.

We are all moderately intelligent people. Educate us on them and let us decide. Communicate to your constituents and don't under estimate them.

Doing so would be a fatal political error, one that has repeatedly been made be this administration.

FWIW, this is my second post yet I have been reading this thread for quite awhile. I'm done reading. Time to add my opinion and it is opinion only.

Just what is it that you think we would be deciding upon? This type of deal is being done by the corporation and I seriously doubt that they need our blessing to consummate it. It would be very nice if there is something we can get out of this.. money... stock... more airplanes or better scope, but I highly doubt our input is wanted nor needed.

Ed to the board: "Sorry guys, the JAL JV isn't going to go through."

The board: "Why's that?"

Ed: "80ktsClamp on airlinepilotcentral doesn't like it."

Board: "Why didn't you say?? Get rid of it fast!!"

I would dare say NONE. And there aren't many songwriters as good either.

Welcome to the Board, TheManager. Speak your mind. All opinions are welcome. :D

I would spend a bit of time understanding how we do negotiate. You might be surprised that we do have professionals involved in every step of the process. There are no table negotiations like some seem to think. Positions are exchanged on paper. Meetings are held only to clarify positions. Professionals put together our positions. Pilot guidance is however critical to the process since so much of how we do our job is unique to this profession. Try and explain how critical a seniority number is to a non airline person and you will get a basic understanding.
