Heyas ACL,
Well, there has been talk of moving this fun off of APC to something a little less public, BUT.... But the fact of the matter is that some pilots are just "breastfeeders", and it wouldn't matter where you posted it, if they have access to it, they'd have a copy of the relevant posts with an executive summary typed up for management and/or ALPA leadership (is there any real distinction between these two at this point?) on a daily basis. Over on the old NWALPA webboard, we had guys who were serious DAL wannabes, and they'd copy the day's discussions, and they'd be over on the Parkway at the speed of light. It was kinda fun, tho, once we figured it out. Like guys who steal hats from the crew room, you're always going to have a sub-set of guys out for number one...even more so than the rest of us, and they'd be more than happy to serve the rest of us up if push came to shove because (insert one or more excuses from the list below): A) They have a family (like the rest of us don't) B) They live in base and you should just move to base C) They don't "believe" in unions D) See themselves as "management" E) See themselves still on "the mission" F) You should just "suck it up and take one for the team" G) Need to score points for that management gig H) Feverishly believe that any money they save the company will somehow wind up in their pocket. I ) Need to tie their horse up to someone to get that cushy job national (points for planning ahead, I guess). And of course, should we point this out to them, they'd simply say we'd do the same if we were in their shoes... Nu Nu; I agree, and it makes a lot of sense. As I understand it, it was not go hide any discussions, but moreover to just get rid of some of the trolls. Either way I will go where the forum goes, and the networking and sharing of ideas is awesome. I think that it is safe to assume that many parties watch this forum to see what temperature the water is. All of that is good, but it appears that many topics have hit a few nerves. Namely discussion on "intel/dot connecting," scope, pay, JV's and the like. My point is that ppl like Kingbird are just giving good warning that the interest has gotten out of proportion with what is really being said on here. I love the thread, but as of late have not been overly happy with its direction. |

Anybody know if there is a non-rev line to list on USAir flights or jumpseats, or is it just a walk-up deal?
1-800-325-9999 I used to use them all the time, I've had nothing but good experiences jumping on them. |

P.S. just in case- Management good.:) Union bad. Underboob is obscene. All the people here are heathens and socialists. Except Check Essential. He deserves a bonus for superior airmanship and moral character. http://extra.listverse.com/amazon/nuns/Nun_ruler.jpg |

So rather than a some guys chatting in crew room, it's rapidly devolving into the same catbox that the ALPA forum has become, where instead of useful information, it's just a boat load of he said/she said, guys launching off on whatever personal crusade they are on that week (JS, SLI, yellow fever, whatever) , or simply lathering justification/defense of either the company, the union or whatever party they represent without providing any background information. Mostly, people are talking past each other, and that's exactly what's starting to happen here. Nu |
the only real argument thats been on here was that of sicktime usage. Other than that its still been on track. I just dont get into those discussions because theres no point.
Leave the fighting over at Flight Info and leave the rumors and camaraderie here on apc. |
Hi!
Just saw the post of the C-172 @ $150K. They are $250K+ from what I remember, and the info is old. I think $275+ is more likely. A Cessna Skycatcher, the LSA, is over $100K. cliff GRB |
As a non-Delta pilot lurker, I certainly hope this thread and the players involved stick around APC.
This thread has provided me (a DAL hopeful) a wealth of info that I would never have had access too. It provides great ammo for my upcoming decision (hopefully at some point) of where to spend my career. My opinion doesn't matter very much, but just wanted to let you all know that there are plenty of us out here, with no agenda, who benefit from this threads existence. |

I don't think it happens nearly as often as some seem to think, but it certainly happens and it needn't be some taboo subject. There's really no harm in discussing it and ways to minimize it. Having said that, it's kind of eye-opening to hear people admit it publicly. I might be careful about doing that. Even if you've only done it once or twice in a 30 year career, its still a violation of policy and you could get in trouble. |

I finished translating the 73NG LoD into .csv spreadsheets, suitable for importation into any flashcard program. Is it kosher to post a link to 'em here, at my preferred site, or does that kind of thing have to go on the password protected MEC site?
I'd post them on the DALPA forums under Training. Also, I'd love to get a copy of them. Nice job dude! Buzz |
