Check the DALPA forum...I'm pretty sure you can't take it out. You can take a loan from your 401, usually will loan you about half of the total value of your account. Probably a better idea than taking it out and taking the penalty unless you just have to have the money. If that's the case you'll have to see if you qualify for hardship withdrawal. PMNWA guys had the option to take an in-service withdrawal, but I'm being told that PMDAL guys did not.

That's correct. You can't cash it out. You can move it out into a fund which is what I plan to do when I think its maxed out.

They will ask for 100 seat relief. Duh!

Actually, I doubt they will. Management may be many things but they aren't stupid. They know the score on this issue. Why would they put the stick in the hornet's nest when they know they will lose? If they learned anything from C2K, they learned that if you get people ****ed off enough, they will stick it in your ear.

Unfortunately, until an economically feasible 100 seat aircraft really materializes and Delta goes out and buys them for Delta pilots, we will have these 100-seat rumors. It seems like the life cycle of these rumors is every 4-5 months. You know the E-195 is not the jet. Even US Airways with their below bankruptcy contract can't make those planes work.

I think the rumor I want is that Delta was going to buy 100 777's with seats in them, that is a much better rumor.

Alfa I like that rumor too! :D

I think the composition of the new Negotiating Committee sends a loud and clear message that Scope is not for sale. 3 of the members are F/O's, seniority between 7300-8500 (The Chairman included) and the 4th member is a narrowbody CA. :)

You don't think management will try? mmmmm

Sorry for the off..

Does anyone know or can estimate the average flight time on DC9-30's and -40's that will be retiring this fall.

I know the average age 36+, but that's including the -50's isn't it?

Thank you.

The economics of outsourcing don't make sense anymore at Delta, if they ever did. We have spent the last 4 years trying to undo all the damage done by Leo & Co. They are going after the "HVC" in a big way, and they need company metal to do it.

Right you are! They are really going after the HVC and have already started to show some of the changes they are making.

Quick question. I'm on a trip with no contract or computer handy. Can Bereavement Leave be used for a spouse's grandparent? Thanks in advance.

flying_wendell 03-27-2010 03:47 PM

Yes, I used bereavement leave for my wife's grandmother.
