Nu, intriguing analysis. I hope for the former in that the court tells the DOT and SWA to go to hell. All I can say is that if this went to court or hit the Capitol floor Delta needs to be squeeky clean in every aspect of it's operation to pull off a win, as they're always in search of a villian, and get ready LM for some phone calls from up above.
Is Costa Rica going to have enouh room for hourly 744 arrivals? :D FTB is grumpy and growing intolerant. Waves, jump in my man. |

You guys notice the little blurb about the new 777. Paid for in cash. Now that is a way to nip debt service in the bud....

I agree, however we need to tread very lightly because there are 4 HND slots that have not been allocated yet.......The old "be careful whose Wheaties you pi$$ in...." saying comes to mind.

Is it true there is a rumor about giving up 100 seat scope for a 12% raise all around?
|
In a word - NO!
I've been careful to note the communications from my reps, how they vote and how they talk in friendly conversation. I've seen nothing to even suggest such a proposal would gain traction right now. For objective measures of wind direction on scope, 1 of the 4 C44 Reps stated he would have voted for Compass divestiture. 1 pushed a resolution to at least study keeping Compass in. The other two supported the Compass resolution either in lobbying efforts, or in statements in favor from the floor. This is a change from the previous C44 Reps who ALL voted to divest Compass. Not that this single issue can be extrapolated to every scope issue, but those watching the trends, things look positive. Also consider the C44 Rep who authored the "Scope Report Card" resolution gave a scope presentation using independent data (DOT Form 41) that he did the leg work in creating and that our new Chairman is Expert on the code share and international flying end of scope. But, the center of power has not changed much, if at all. There is still significant risk a scope sale could be made ... but now just isn't the right time for that wheeling and dealing to take place in the negotiating process. |
Bar, you have no idea how proud it makes me to hear you admit your SJS. Years ago, I discovered SJS. I was the first to describe it's symptoms and coined the phrase on that 'other' message board. Seeing you use it here, now, I realize all those years spent on aviation message boards weren't wasted. Next to the birth of my kids, this is one of my proudest moments. Thank you. :D
Oh, and remember, admitting you have a problem is the first step towards a cure. |
