IMHO, SWA is sensitive about their "Joe Six Pack" image, and have gone a ways to try to get away from that. and AirTran just kicked them where it hurts. Nu |

Years ago my wife and I flew SWA from BHM-MSY, she said never again. The lack of assigned seating and the fear of not sitting together and then once we're on board having people ask if you'd move just made the pre-boarding a stressful event. Mind you ValueJet had the same seating style back in the mid 90s but dropped it, I don't know if that was after they became AirTran or before. Speaking of throwin elbows, I ran a punk teenager into the grass yesterday when he tried to pass me after his lane had ended and despite me being bumper to bumper with the car in front. I'm going to be that lady from Fried Green Tomatoes, "face it kids, I'm older and have more insurance." |
Word from the ATL CPO is that the DOT/DOJ are not going for the new slot swap. I hope they're wrong.

How much is SWA paying these folks? Here's your man, DOT Secretary Mr. Ray Lahood: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J4BEmn86Yx...ahood_1219.jpg |

Gosh no one wants to upset poor SWA...... |
I think if SWA wins and we have to pull back on the slot swap, and thats assuming we aren't forced to give them up anyways because we chose the wrong 4 low cost carriers to sell the slots to over the one the DOT/DOJ wanted, then we really ought to ramp up BNA and BHM flying and flood Islip, Vegas, Oakland and Love with RJs, for starters. If we've got RJs and DC9s to spare, use them and clog the system.
Oh well, back to the chainsaw. This time to my face, its been way too long since I last flew and one the beard gets bad enough that I can actually part the seas then I know its time to shave again even if I'm not going to fly for another week. |
Nah, no reason to shave.
