Republic ordering the Bombardier Cseries configured at 138 seats makes me wonder who and what will replace the DC-9's. Republic Airways Orders 80 Bombardier CSeries Aircrafts. | Planenews Aviation News http://www.bombardier.com/files/en/s...01-IGK7-HR.jpg [ I've been cynical in the past but I don't think anyone from LM down in DALPA or for anyone RA and down at Delta is under the illusion that giving away a bulk of our narrow body flying to an outfit whose intentions are not ours is either financially or operationally wise. And I seriously doubt the stock holders will either when they see a potential DAL domestic replacement brewing. The mantra should no longer be a pilot centrist "not one more seat, not one more pound" and so forth but rather... "stop funding our competition." That goes for funding RAH and for funding Skywest who uses their planes for UAL. Its something nobody wants and nobody can deny is happening. |

In my view, the concern should not be on them flying those for us but rather on us funding their use of those jets for Frontier/Midwest. On the other hand, 138 seats is 3 short of the MD-88. So thats not just a DC9-30, or 40, or 50 replacement, thats an 88 replacement and that will be on the radar screen of vast vast majority of Delta pilots because when you say DC9 replacement some might think the -30, but when you say 88 replacement you mean everything from the 88 down. I'm sure the LCA on the ER will ensure everyone understands its to be on their radar too. ;)

The range ring above nearly matches the already outsourced E175; it has a 2400nm max range

Factually speaking, they are correct. It is Delta Flight XXXX. Just another way to blur the lines as much as possible.
I would think this is appropriate for all connection carriers. They shouldn't say Delta in there announcements unless they follow that with operated by DCI blah blah blah...... |
Anyone notice this....Sun Country operated by United:

Yep, that C-Series is not a regional jet, nor is the E-Series.

Kinda funny to see the picture of that C series in Republic paint, that paint scheme flying on any of their other airplanes? Or are they all painted in Delta or United colors? When does our contract with RAH finished? Around 2015 when they first C series is supposed to show up?

I'm at Comair and we are now required to use the phrase "Delta Connection flight xxxx..." on all PA's. I don't really have an opinion about it. Just letting you know.
