Well, hopefully it isn't true.

It did get me thinking last night though.

Is anyone else worried about Republic codesharing with DL in order to bypass scope?

If Delta came to the table and said they wanted to give more 76 seaters or 100 seaters to a current DCI ALPA carrier, or else they were just going to have Republic do the flying, what would happen?

I guess my question is: Is it better to stand firm on scope, or let it go out to a non-ALPA, non DCI carrier?

Yes.

But in a sense until the day we retire we will need to worry about codeshare agreements both with domestic carriers and international carriers.

As to RAH, I'll let others speak but I'm going to go back and look at that post on canceling the contract. I'm wondering off the top of my head do we take those leases on and reallocate them to other DCIs? More favorable DCIs like Compass?

That would be no but not "officially!"

They will ask for 100 seat relief. Duh!

I am comfortable that the answer to that question will be not just no, but F no.

I've spoken to a great many reps, north and south, and THEY are the one's who mentioned to ME that if the topic is broached, there will be figurative blood in the street.

If there ever was a window of opportunity the company had to schmoose its way into 100 seaters, it's gone.

I havent read too far back in the thread but there is a rumor at XJ floating around that Delta would give a 12% increase in pay in return for 100 seat scope relief...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, dont give up scope...Ide like to come to Delta someday and not be on the 30 year regional plan at XJ

Nu, I agree. The time is gone. Long gone. Time to insource and become not just the world's largest but the world's best carrier. That starts with owning your product.

Quoted for gospel.

Word is that the new FT/DT regs will nuke the CASM for the regionals without decent contracts. It eliminates high speed overnights with multiple legs and single staffing overnights with minimum rest. Add in pressure from the 1,500 hour rule (if passed), and you have the makings for some fun times.

I am probably going to sell my stock at $15 and cash it out and take the 10% penalty. Can we even do this?

yep, which will cause our hiring needs to go from a trickle to a nice flow going in to 2011 and then beyond it get oh so nice.

There is going be a real cost issue with the duty rigs and the regional carriers. Add to it the five year resets on these contracts and man. Mainline will be come more than just a nicety. It will be come a necessity for many.

I hope you're right. It would be nice to go through a 44 year airline career without getting furloughed.

Check the DALPA forum...I'm pretty sure you can't take it out. You can take a loan from your 401, usually will loan you about half of the total value of your account. Probably a better idea than taking it out and taking the penalty unless you just have to have the money. If that's the case you'll have to see if you qualify for hardship withdrawal. PMNWA guys had the option to take an in-service withdrawal, but I'm being told that PMDAL guys did not.
