The comment period is over March 22. That's 30 days after it was posted in the Federal Register. I don't know why there was such a delay when the tentative DOT "approval" was dated February 9. Sorry in advance for the formatting...it came from a pdf of the register.

7306 Federal Register / Vol. 75, No. 32 / Thursday, February 18, 2010 / Notices

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
Federal Aviation Administration
[Docket No. FAA–2010–0109]
Petition for Waiver of the Terms of the
Order Limiting Scheduled Operations
at LaGuardia Airport

ACTION
:
Notice of a petition for waiver

and solicitation of comments on grant of

petition with conditions.
SUMMARY

:
Delta Air Lines and US Airways submitted a joint waiver request from the prohibition on

purchasing operating authorizations(
‘‘slots’’ or ‘‘slot interests’’) at LaGuardiaAirport (LGA). The carriers requested the waiver to allow them to consummate a transaction in which Delta would transfer 42 pairs of slot interests to US Airways at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), international route authorities to Sa˜o Paulo and Tokyo; and terminal space at the Marine Air Terminal at LGA. US Airways would transfer 125 pairs of slot interests to Delta at LGA, and would lease an additional 15 pairs of LGA slot interests with a purchase option, together with terminal space in LGA’s Terminal C. We have evaluated the proposed transaction and tentatively determined that, while the proposed transaction has a number of benefits, a grant of the waiver in its entirety would result in a substantial increase in market concentration that would harm consumers. Accordingly, while we have tentatively decided to grant Delta Air Lines’ and US Airways’ joint waiver request in part, we have tentatively determined that the public interest
would best be served by creating new and additional competition at the airports to counterbalance the potential harm to consumers. To achieve that goal, our proposed waiver would require the divestiture of 14 pairs of slot interests at DCA and 20 pairs of slot interests at LGA to new entrant and limited incumbent carriers.

DATES

:
Comments on the FAA’sproposed grant of the petition for waiver

with conditions must clearly identify
the docket number and must be received
on or before March 22, 2010.

Slow;
Wow. I thought it was 30 from the 9th. That is quite a delay to publish it on the register.

However, I've flown with a lot of very good FA's at DAL. I think the bad apples just leave more of an impression on you... but also the passengers. It takes one bad FA to ruin the DAL image for a passenger. I think some FA's are so used to dealing with people they have resorted to the cattle type attitude.

Agreed. By and large we have a lot of great flight attendants that very professional and capable of putting up with the people and the pilots and the "you know whats" among us. :D its one of the biggest things you notice going from regional to mainline in that the percentage of true professionals who care about their job and themselves skyrockets.

Truth is we all know that no matter how good we run the ship from up front, no matter how smooth the air and no matter how hard it was to tell when the plane actually touched down, you can still have 140+ people get off angry due to bad service. Good FAs are a must if ever we're going to not just be the worlds largest carrier but the worlds best.

I had an A-line who told us during the international brief to give her our 1st picks only and get them to me before anyone gets on boad. Classy.

I also had a good friend who flies the 88 in his mid to late 20s that is very young looking, he boarded a plane and a mid 60s cat rancher look right at him and without saying another word blurted "I like my pilots to have white hair", he said "I like my flight attendants to be blonde." Awesome. He also gets a lot of the fun FAs who ask the Captain what he wants to drink and then turn to him and say don't worry, I'll be back to breastfeed you later. Sweet. Underboob.

As far as eye candy, sure they're not many 20 year old coeds but there are a lot of beautiful women in their 30s and 40s here. Think FNC anchorettes.

This government.

Thats why they pay themselves so much. Thats why some states are letting you pay extra in your taxes.

I'm hearing we ran one off the runway in ATL today. Anyone?

acl65pilot 03-12-2010 12:13 PM

Dunno, but DFW is holding at three fixes and landing on one runway for an emergency.

acl65pilot 03-12-2010 12:14 PM

GS are flying out the door today too. Two on the ATL 7ERb. One for an eight minute report.
