I think if EMB tries a 150 seat with that 2x2 seating that thing is going to make a 753 look like a A319. EMB has had a long standing position of not going into the 737/A320 size battle zone and I think its interesting Bombardier is either waffling or non commital on going beyond 130 seats too. That might be the limit and maybe Bombardier will hit the start button on the C-Series and maybe we can have one of these two planes here in short order to make sure we're a growing airline. Maybe have as many of those as we once had DC9s. I wonder how you say "viagra jet" in Portugese. I am certainly eagerly awaiting the C-series aircraft. It looks like it's going to be a promising design, and hopefully it will have the cargo capability more in line with a real airplane instead of the E-195. Since management is reading this: I have zero issues with shutting this place down over anything over 76 seats being outsourced. The airline does not deserve to be in business with that level of outsourcing. (It's already gone way too far...) |

The answer is that you have no weapon against management if they have no fear that you will ever use it. They not only need to know many of the things that could happen, but they have to know there is a high chance that the workers will actually press the button. From my own conversations with other pilots in the lounge and on flights, our next contract negotiations could get very interesting to say the least. Maybe I'm being a Pollyanna and looking on the bright side but only time will tell.:o All I can say is that if I'M fed up with things, I KNOW alot of others are too!:) Hang in there.........all is not lost yet! I agree with your post and I agree that if cargo is the E195s issue then EMB would have to look at how to fix that if they want DAL orders... although cargo doesn't seem to be an issue on the RJ fleet. The 80 is great for cargo, there was a time when I saw a coffin or two in the 2nd cargo compartment on every leg. I think people have slacked off kicking the bucket lately but I'm sure business will pick up. |

Denny Considering the fact that I view this thread many more times than I post (sad, I know), and that I'm sure many others have the same habits, it's safe to say that there probably aren't THAT many outside lurkers. I can just imagine it now: in some deeply hidden cubicle in Va Ave, there is the special assignment management person with one task: Find out who everyone on APC is. Learn who their family members are and what they do.... their pets...and their underwear of preference. These things are all crucial to the future of Delta and finding out how to crack the concrete bunker that is the pilot ranks here. |
