4 engines on the 747 does make for a less restrictive route limitation on the numbers.

ACL do you realize you have more than 8500 posts under your name?

Agreed. No ETOPS issues either.

For any of you DAL-S guys that want to see this hallowed worldflight release "front page," go to Deltanet... click on manuals and library services, click on FOM and FOBs at the top left... click on FOM part 1 (or just pull your FOM out of your flight kit)...

Go to pages 5.7.21 and 5.7.26.

Those 2 blocks combined are the "front page" that you get 3 copies of... it works out to be about a 8.5x11 to slightly larger sheet of paper.

It is significantly different than our front page, which is why most DAL-S guys can't understand or picture what the -N guys are talking about. Look it up so you can understand what they are talking about. All the info is in your FOM.

I'll be the first to say that I personally like worldflight releases a little bit better... not something I'm going to get my panties in a wad over, though. Both systems are equally capable and very efficient in their info presented.

Hey 80 thanks, It does make things a littie easier to have this info right at your hands. Some people may not use it at all but others do. I have captians that have a ritual with their copy of the relaease. You could in no way get your hands on it. It is just a cultural issue. SOme guys put about 25 things on what he considers his release and puts it in his pocket. Never to be seen again and it will be tape to his side of the window. We are different here in that the relaease is not in the center of whatever you guys do. Put the bulliten out that the release stays here!!!!!!!!!!! We can do it but I challenge the guys to pull the releases out of our captains pockets. See you are assuming that our captians are doing waht your captains are doing----NOT.

Oh I'm not assuming what your captains are doing is the same as ours... they'll have to learn and adjust (which is where a lot of the stress comes from).

I think it will self correct as people adjust to the new setup, as well as as crews start to intermix.

You guys on the 400 are hosed on the intermix part! :) See ya in 5 years and I'll show you where to put the release, haha.

In the meantime....alcohol, kicking the dog, and ranting on internet forums are all very healthy ways of dealing with change. ;)

I'm a HUGE crosschecker. If the captain is loading the flightplan, there's other stuff I can be doing while he's got the paperwork.... like hunting down the elusive gray trashbags.

Just another complaint, Those DAL bags don't work well for 14 hour legs. Give us back the cheapo plastic that gould handle 14 hours of crap especially having 3 copies of paper work to put in there. Takes 2 of those DAL bags to get there. LOL

acl65pilot 03-09-2010 07:56 PM

You talking trash bags?

Yep it takes two of em. That is for a eight hr crossing. More if it involves more than one round of meals up front.
