You example number four was the triple pay I was looking at for the trip in question. Now granted that was a few years ago, and it really needs to get ugly to get there, but yes, there are ways for that to happen. It was a regualr line trip, then GSWC to an IA. Crazy stuff.

See I didnt put any comment on it because I was confused. Say you're ER NYC, you have a trip tomorrow as a line holder worth 20 hours and you put in a GSWC for today for another trip worth 20 hours and they take you up on it. My understanding was that you got today's trip 2X pay and your original trip at 1X pay or 20x2 + 20 = 60.

Is that not correct? Now if it was an IA, shouldn't it be the same or is the IA the one that is double plus single pay?

We must know, summer is going to be a blast... hopefully. :D I want people behind me. Lots of people. Lots and lots of people.

Finding the hotel van pick up area is the hardest part...that's meant to be encouraging. There are two Crown Plaza hotels. I looked on my cell phone & thought I had the ph#, but was mistaken. Maybe someone else can chime in on that? Once you get on the van, ask the driver if he can run you straight to the training center, (it's called NATCO, and he'll be intimately familiar). If you have an hour of play in your schedule, then you may want to just check into the hotel. The van leaves from the hotel every half-hour. Can't remember if it's the top of the hour, five past, or what. Just ask. It's a 7-10 minute ride. There's a great Thai restaurant (very Mom-n-Poppa San) about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Also, a sure-enough Jersey style restaurant that is on the way to the Thai place. It's a pretty good overnight, hotel, eats, locale, etc. The instructors are top shelf guys. Bend over backwards to help you any way they can. There's a deli like restaurant at NATCO as well, but odd hours on weekends. Hope your tng event goes well.

Chuck

Chuck,

Thanks for the info. I DH in the night before the sim period. It's just my 6 month, 1 period recurrent ride so no worries here!:)

Would have never happened at former airline , this really needs to be changed. Whai if you did not have a computer with you.

I haven't been to NATCO, but the C/P is the layover hotel also. The bus leaves the airport every half hour on the top and bottom so plan your hustle to the stop accordingly. There is a brew pub called Great Waters (or something like that) about 5 minutes away. They have a 20% Delta discount. Nice beer.

Shouldn't have happened here YOUR current airline either. If they didn't call you, send you a reroute printout in the air, or you acknowledge it in icrew, then you aren't notified.

I typically carry my computer with me and most days will end up looking at iCrew at least some point in time on the layover. Upon seeing this, I would have defintiely called them and ask them what the heck was going on and why I wasn't called.

Not that difficult or some massive conspiracy and this isn't some yahoo small aircraft operation. They expect us to act like big boys and I strictly expect the same from them. Keep it simple.

acl65pilot 03-14-2010 03:24 PM

It is simple. The system is a mess, and they did not have bodies to call people.

80 remember if you call and they assign, you will do it. Two hrs earlier better be legal. I never accept something unless I know it is legal. A DH home would have been just fine by me! :D

Yeah exactly- my point was on calling them and asking them why the heck I wasn't notified about a change earlier. That's not right.

And I do the same thing- I never accept it until I've verified through my own calculations it's legality. After being abused at a regional, it's hard to get that out of your system. :)

acl65pilot 03-14-2010 03:57 PM

Agreed. Must verify.

I remember not getting a reroute and we were headed home as it was our last assignment. CA checked the computer and we were rerouted in to a flight that was planned to leave 10 minutes before we checked the sked. He acked it, we went to the gate, flight was full and were wondering why were were not here. As soon as we hit 10K we got another reroute. So much to being a team player.

I do not believe this is correct. I am pretty sure you just got a wash. You get straight pay for the trip you dropped (20 hours) plus pay no credit for the trip you pick up (20 hours) so.... 40 hours. The difference is pay no credit.

Back in the DEX days, we got paid for the trip that got dropped, and 1.5x for the trip we were picking up... can you say slot machine? The captains all played the game and put in nothing but GSWC, and there were some guys there that made huge coin. I was way down the list, and it eventually got to me, but usually not until later in the month, and I didn't get any of the prime trips... I got the pudknocker trips (Know the movie reference?) :) Anyway.. I think that what I said above is correct, but I am sure a guru can correct me if wrong.
