Thanks, George. So that brings up a new question for me. Do we get positive space after rotations if we deviate from a scheduled deadhead? If we do, where can we use the positive space? Do we have to use it on the original city pairs or can we use it to commute home to a completely different airport?

I have used to cities other than my domicile.

GS w/conflict. That is triple pay.

What do you mean triple pay? You get single for the new rotation and single for the removed rotation.

I have seen one where gswc was over only one day of said trip. Trip credit, plus lost credit plus double pay for gs that was not in conflict. It came out to well over single play for rotation and removed.

Scoop

Seconded.

Been the meat in a Fat Man Sandwich 4 times in the last 30 days.

Any Mainline Delta Airport,
no stopover,
can't go through your base

Call the VRU, then press 3 for Jumpseat, press 4 for deadhead
you must be signed in to your rotation
can request specific seats at that time if available
typically this also covers the notification for scheduling that you are deviating.

I say that because the other day I gave scheduling a courtesy call (got one of the recent additions) and they cancelled my deviated DH I had all set up. The gate agent was all confused when I suddenly dropped off her list...

Cheers
George

FWIW, negative availability runs rampant in the summer and even then I've never gotten rolled into a day off.

FTB, based in DTW. You're probably correct. So many GS & IA out there they'll find somebody to do it. Although the last DTW-LGA tonight kept popping in & out of open time, then it finally CXD. It was a full 320. 148 peeps not making it to LGA tonight. I don't think scheduling could find an FO.

Can't wait to see what this summer will be like!!! :p

I show up to the gate and the agent says that I am not on the crew list. She pulls up the my rotation. It shows me rerouted for a flight not leaving until 2100. Not once did scheduling call me. The new first officer is sitting there. She was called last night and given my rotation. I expressed my displeasure with scheduling and got my rotation back.

Last night they changed my DH from 0600 to 0845, & never even called me! Fortunately I checked my sked before my head hit the pillow. Had I not, I would have been very unhappy about taking a 0515 van for a 0845 DH.

Wow! That's great! I had no idea we could use the VRU to list. So your flight back has to be a nonstop flight?

georgetg 03-13-2010 06:49 PM

sorry, the VRU just gets you the dedicated DH booking person, there is no automation 'yet'.
You'll need your rotation number when you call

apparently web access is coming soon and for training you can already book your flights home during breaks on travelnet...

Cheers
George
