***FAA Reopens Comment Period to Accept Rebuttal Comments in Delta/US Airways Slot Swap Proceeding - New Deadline is April 5, 2010

***Southwest Seeks Guidance from FAA on New Issues in Delta/US Airways DCA/LGA Slot Swap - Wants DOT/FAA to Reopen the Entire Proceeding for Further Investigation (I think this is the old news from the statement they released already)

I don't have access to the full info, but these were posted on this site:

What's March Madness? I thought this time of year was spring practice season???:D

March madness is at Ford Field next weekend in Detroit. Last year it was in DC. Not quite as good as the Frozen Five which is each March at the X-cel center!

So you have scheduling take the SC off? Can you request that?

I've never thought about this scenerio but I do often have PM SC's and I check and see a trip and acknowledge them prior to my SC beginning. I was under the assumption I was still on SC so if things changed I'd have to change my plans but thats just be assuming stuff because I don't want to look it up. :D

But, I have timed out before when I was on a 0930 SC, I acknowledged a trip at 0800 and the trip showed at 1500, later that night I timed out based off the 0930, not 1500.

I have had this happen several times. I would usually call to be released from SC obligations. They always released me and still gave me credit for the SC.

Yep, and the reps pushed for the seven day window prior to a MEC vote. Ergo why this is just coming out now versus after the MEC Meeting in MCO. The new LEC reps from 81 pushed the issue of a seven day comment period that is actually part of our Policy Manual. +1

80, the 7ER is the same pay, so it is my impression that you DO NOT get pay protection. You cannot hold a status higher than the one you are displaced to.

How this works is that you are correct that pay protection would work, but the other part is that it is also the difference from the most senior category you can hold and the one you are displaced from. Because you can hold the NYC 7ER and it pays the same the difference is zero and therefore you are afforded no pay protection. :D

In reality the only ones that are going to get it are senior pilots on senior jets or junior pilots on junior jets in junior bases.

Yep it was reopened a few days ago. Shorter period this time. I bet it is a way to give SWA their say.

My response is you did not buy them the first time so you cannot have them the second time.

The ATLXGDL people have gotten quite used to the WCHA website when I fly on fridays and saturdays.

It reminds me of the Simpsons episode where professional soccer came to town, they marketed it so well the whole town showed up excited to see SOCCER!! but then two guys just kept kicking the ball to each other. The American announcer grew bored, the Spanish announcer got more and more excited with each pass but eventually the towns people got mad and then a fight broke out and then they rioted and nearly burned the whole town down. There, a soccer riot.

Satch is going to be mad at us Nu. ;)

Not anger, more like pity. I'm sorry your cretins don't understand The Beautiful Game. Besides except for Alabama football, I just can't sit for 3.5 hours and watch an NFL or CFB game anymore. World football 90 min, about 15 or 20 at the half and a hand full of minutes in stoppage time and boom, you're done.

I do however, fire up this years Iron Bowl whenever I'm feeling down. That game was truly, The Beautiful Game!:D

Quick reserve question and I'm sure it's been covered before, but can't seem to find anything on it. I'm SC today 0300-1500, provided I'm not given another SC assignment for tomorrow when do I revert to long call and am obligated to answer my phone? 1501? or at midnight? Thanks!
