They constantly move jets from storage to SAT fir the HMV checks. Looks and see if they take another one to storage to fill its spot. Business usual.

Yep, ships 510 and 511. The company (DAL) expected a 6% fuel savings, but it only turned out to be about 3% so they wacked the program. As I recall, the addition of the winglets also blocked out flaps 40, but I can't remember why.

Kind of off topic but why is it that I can find cheaper fares online than I can in Travelnet under "Fly Confirmed for Less?" Seems like an oxymoron to me!:)

Am I the only one still worried about getting furloughed with the parking of the DC-9's and the 757's that are still painted in Northwest colors? There's nothing I can do about it either way, but the way I understand it is fleets like the A330 and 747-400 are way over-staffed.

Although furlough clauses aren't generally worth the paper they are written on, remember we picked up the increase in the "No Furlough Clause" with the 175 deal. I beleive it extended the clause out to 5 years. I can't remember the specifics, but an ER Captain buddy of mine knows the details. I can call or email him if no one else remembers the deal.

I think it's because the "Fly Confirmed for Less" is a discount off "certain" fares. The "certain" fares are not the lowest.

Also, people in the DALPA forums say they have found fares (domestically I think) online that are cheaper than buddy passes prices.

I'm sure you are right about it being off selected fares but it almost seems like false advertising to me.

Whew, touch a nerve there?

Nonetheless, the grievance, the fact of the matter is that it was filed PRIOR to the merging of the MECs, which makes this a northside grievance.

Any and all issues concerning should be the sole purview of northside pilots.

Not to mention, win or lose, this grievance doesn't affect a single south guy in any way, shape or form. If you don't like the grievance, fine, just sit on the sidelines and let the north custodian close it out. But don't run interference for the company. That's just being full of douche.

If you don't understand this, then the missteps that the MEC administration made over the KW issue, as well as others (cough...MOU 7...cough), will continue, and they will needlessly irritate north pilots.

The fly confirmed for less seems like a scam to me. I could book a flight on delta.com for $300, $50 of which was taxes and fees.

I went onto fly confirmed for less with the exact same itinerary, they were direct flights, and the price was $260. $100 of which was taxes and fees.

I emailed the pass people to ask them about it. Their answer was that they have no idea. I just do not understand how taxes and fees could be double when a fare is reduced.
