>>>Fifth, remember LOA 19 was voted on and approved by 86.76% of DALN pilots who voted. [/quote]<<<
Are you talking about LOA 19 from April 2009? If so, I don't think that is an accurate percentage. DALN pilots didn't vote on that particular LOA. RF |

WOW!!! Raw score, yellow slip, short call, long call, international rest, domestic rest, when you can get a call, when you check the computer, move days, etc.etc. Sure seems like this reserve thing is way to complicated. Is there a bullet point gouge out there concerning reserve?????

Ok, I'm an idiot, but wanted to remind everyone about this so no one else pulls the same bone-headed maneuver that I did today.
Lowering your RAW by 15 pts is a YELLOW SLIP REQUEST! +12 hours to report you are contractually required to fly the rotation. I got short call for tomorrow with a commutable start (first day on) and then, wanting to fly rather than sit short call, I lowered my RAW. I'm all set to commute in the morning, and the last flight tonight has already left. Ring . . . "Crew Scheduling, we have a trip tomorrow with a 6am-ish report, I'll mark you notified" . . . Me (sounding very stupid) "I didn't realize that by lowering my RAW it was considered a Yellow Slip" Somewhere along the way I knew this, but just didn't put 2 and 2 together. I'm not complaining here as this was completely my screw-up, but just don't want anyone else to unwittingly make the same mistake. |
While we are on the subject of reserve - what is the payback if you fly you into an X day?

If I'm on my last Non-flying day & they assign me SC(I agknowledge it) but before 1500 LBT they call me with a YS trip then I have to accept, yes? The change come before 1500. Now, if they call AFTER 1500 on my last Non Fly day, then I'm only required to be available during my SC period, yes? Discuss...... :p |

Johnso.
Prior to 1500 your are obligated. After if you answer you are obligated. If not you have your last assignment. They will try again at midnight if it is after a 1200 report for another mush ack. Scoop IA and GS give the day back plus any required rest.If they just fly you, they move the day. |

You are real good at making personal attacks but on substance, not so much. Tell me what buzzwords am I using, what motivational boy scout slogans am I using. Snicker away I guess that's all you have when you don't have any facts to back you up.
Leadership is leading, it is not taking the temperature of the situation and adjusting your principles to fit the swaying winds. If leadership means we remain a balkanized group, where identity politics means more than success, where any small group can threaten and intimidate to get their way then you should really snicker away. That is not leadership, that is pandering to the masses. If we do it your way, what is going to happen when we have tough decisions to make. More pandering? If that is how you think leadership is then heaven help us, no wonder your MEC was so screwed up for so long. I don't know if others on this thread have been following this little controversy, but they should. NuGuy's attitude reflects the typical political culture of minority, self interest infighting that is exactly the opposite of what should be in a union. Nuguy...you didn't dispute one iota of Alfa's discription of the facts in this dispute, you only respond with technicality-justified, essentially emotional, narrow interest "facts", and you do so in a most disgustingly cynical way...(Boy Scouts?). And you do so with absolutely no...zero..."0"..."goose-egg" concern for the long-term interests of the whole group... Nuguy,... ad hominem attacks are the last resort of a failed argument....You sir, to use a technical phrase...have been "handed your A$$" in this argument, -factually, logically, and especially on "style points"...give it up...."take a knee!" Alfa...go to a neutral corner, this is a TKO....Great job!!! |

I believe that was my BIGGER mistake of the afternoon :o. Had I just let it go to voicemail would they move on to the next guy or am I responsible to check my schedule/voicemail and make the trip anyway? I am off today.
Remember- If you high yellow when you're on long call, it is a proffer. You can refuse it or just not call them back. I personally don't answer so I can see what they've got in the voicemail, then call them back if I want it. Know what call status you're on and what your responsibilities are. Anything that is less than a report time for a long call when you're on long call is a proffer. If you're on short call, you're expected to be readily available. If you've volunteered for something that is optional, whether or not you're on long call, the safest thing to do is let it go to voicemail and see what they have to offer. Yeah yeah yeah, nuguy will have a field day with that because that's what he does, but it's so unbelievably easy. PM me if you have any further questions.
